Fate of the Norns: Ragnarok- Lords of the Ash
Publisher: Pendelhaven

Really interesting book - it adds a lot to Fate of the Norns.

Definitely aimed at higher level campaigns, expect interactions with gods and giants.

Some bits are included for less epic games, including new character archetypes and the like.

The good,

  • A beautiful book, presentation is excellent.
  • An index! Finally!
  • Context is useful and informative.

The bad

  • Editing has taken a hit - many spelling errors, and at least one cut off paragraph. No worse than seems standard for rpg books, but significantly weaker than previous books inthis line.

Really nice GM screen and adventure,

Just a shame that the GM screen is presented as one long sheet equivalent to three letter-sized portrait sheets in width making it essentially impossible form most people to print off...

It's surely not too much to ask that it's presented in a usable form!

Achtung! Cthulhu: Three Kings - Savage Worlds
Publisher: Modiphius

Really good scenario, and a strong starting point to a WW2 Cthulhu game. Whilst it isn't listed as being needed, a copy of "Weird War II" is extremely useful for fleshing out character generation options.

My only real grudge is that the handouts have "Achtung! Cthulhu" in the header of every other page, and are designed to be handed out at the mission onset, kind of ruining any hope of keeping the nature of the game a secret... At the very least the header could have been put into a different layer so I could hide it before printing.

Tour of Darkness Figure Flats

I really like the Tour of Darkness setting for savage worlds, and some high quality paper figures would really be awesome.

However, the art on these figures is really poor, and I regret the purchase. It's really a shame because some of the other paper figures produced by Pinnacle are really awesome.

I am hoping that Arion Games come up with some "GI" figures to go with their Vietcong line, because those are much better.

Science Fiction Heroes Set
Publisher: Arion Games

Some very nice miniatures that won't break the bank.

My only criticism of Arion Games figures is that you don't exactly have a great idea of exactly what you are getting in advance and whether it will be suitable to your needs,

Generally however, they are of excellent quality, and the choice of format (tri-fold and stand-ups) is great.
