Races of the Endless Dark
Publisher: Goodman Games
by Nathan R. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 05/12/2008 08:13:14

I picked this up to get some great ideas for things that crawl around the underdark. It was free and worth the paper I printed it out on, it was also an awesome introduction to the whole series of these Races books that Goodman game produces and so if you are looking for quirky drawing and interesting monsters this is a good choice.

Probably the second best supplement for Psionics for 3.5 I am glad I made the purchase to enable more choices in a Psionic focused campaign.

THRILLING TALES: Lost Temple of the Incan Blood God
Publisher: Adamant Entertainment
by Nathan R. [Verified Purchaser]

Being new the Pulp Genre as a GM I wanted to cut my teeth on a model that fit the idea of Pulp that I had, Indiana Jone-ish. While not exactly true to the style it gave me plenty of ideas. Mix this and their free d20 to FATE rules and I had something ready to go the first time I ran Spirit of the Century. I would definately consider this a Convention Adventure, doable in 4 hours and without any complex backstory needed.

Warscapes: Battlefield Trenches
Publisher: SkeletonKey Games
by Nathan R. [Verified Purchaser]

Warmachine/Hordes Players rejoice! This fine addition to flat terrain came just in the nick of time for the Stampede event that was being held 10/20. Trenches are a bear to model, but with a bit of glue, cardstock and a color printer in minutes you can have all the trenches you need for the various scenarios. This was money well spent for such specific terrain I couldnt imagine a better match for the game store that doesnt want to either digg into their tables or wanto make up trenches that stand above the ground. A worth while item. Now if the people who made laser cut wood templates figured out this we would be set!

e-Adventure Tiles: Mines of the Dwarf Lord

A nice add on, and a much needed set in the 2-D terrain category. Such a staple in fantasy adventures, the abandoned mines. But there set is not claustrophobic enough, the mine cooridors are plenty wide - as it would be in real life, but the set lacks a few things - A caved in section would have been nice, perhaps a tile with a few "props" that can be cut out - like mine carts for example. That would have been perfect for an Indiana Jone Temple of Doom mine cart chase sequence. But these are minor complaints. If you need a mine tile set, this is the one to get. If you need mine carts, check out the 3-D terrain area you will find one.<br><br><b>LIKED</b>: A needed set.<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: Lack of a caved-in section.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Very Good<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Satisfied<br>

Ever since the Lord of the Rings have players wanted to go head to head in the abandoned halls of the mighty Dwarven Empire. This set get them there, with sweeping halls and nice details on the floor to give the PCs the idea that they are in a Dwarven City and not just in some dungeon.<br><br><b>LIKED</b>: The Details.<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: Some of the peices just didnt play nice with others when creating layouts, but they were adjusted using the Corner stone Dungeon series.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Very Good<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Satisfied<br>

Need a ruined fortress in the middle of the woods, this is your set. Need a ruined cabin, ruined anything else, and you may have to pass. Still the quality of the SK product line is evident in how you could make quite the fortress of ruined stone when properly put together.<br><br><b>LIKED</b>: Good art<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: Not enough other type of structures.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Acceptable<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Satisfied<br>

With the addition of the decidious (sp?) forest this item comes into its own. The Stone circle is a bit too big for me (I would have loved one on just one tile), I found plenty of uses for the rest of it in my games. So if you like 2-D outdoor this one is a good add on, but I would spend my money first on the likes of Wilderness Path and Decidious forest.<br><br><b>LIKED</b>: Additional outdoor elements.<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: Stone circle too big.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Acceptable<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Satisfied<br>

This is the heart of the temple series. So a must have if you want to get others of the set. Generic tiles are wonderful and the little details for the special ones are priceless (esp how the head priest for the snake temple goes through a tube and not a door). A good product if you like the 2-D tiles.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Acceptable<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Satisfied<br>

Tactics & Strategies: Attacks of Opportunity

In any game there is a mechanic that just needs further examination. In D&D 3.5 its the Attack of Opportunity. This little PDF is a gem for those on either side of the DMs screen. With well written prose and good examples this article delves into this mechanic of battle. I highly recommend it to any power gamer or just to the DM so he can show how smart he is when whomping on the players.<br><br><b>LIKED</b>: Good examples.<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: The Examples in Color did not print out so clearly in B&W. <br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Acceptable<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Very Satisfied<br>

Let's see. It'ss a classic, it's massive (Giant more like it), and it's one of my favorite settings. So, when it came out in PDF I had to have it. Not too much in the way of conversion to 3.5 compared to some of the older products (that use monsters of their own creation), this one can easily fit the bill for monthes of adventuring.<br><br><b>LIKED</b>: See Above<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: Nothing<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Very Good<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Satisfied<br>

Great way to add some "flavor" to city encounters, I just randomly flip to a page and as the PCs wander down the street I will just add the text. So for those who have trouble coming up with "sights, smells, and sounds" of the city this is good. If your PCs are more interested in "just getting there" then this may not be your product.<br><br><b>LIKED</b>: Great Index, some fun ideas.<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: The "cards" section, the idea is to be able to print them out and use them as a way to "randomize" events. Perhaps a "random" encounter table would have been more useful.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Very Good<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Satisfied<br>
