As a one shot pick-up game this module fits the bill perfectly, however as part of or an introduction to a campaign save your money. When I read the description I was immediately reminded of a Morrow Project Snake Eater type campaign and initialy intended to modify the information for just that. Unfortunately it just seemed more trouble than it was worth.
The only map provided is a rough (and I mean rough) sketch of the adventure area. No maps of the service tunnels are provided and one of the hero's first missions is to clear them of ghouls. There is no listing of starting equipment for the heros unles you use the pregenerated characters provided, and one of the missions calls for salvaging a vehicle from a junkyard. Again no maps and rather than include stats for the three possible vehicles the authers directs the reader to the core books.
I understand that for the price I shouldn't expect a full blown module however I had hoped to use something from this product.
If you're a part time gamer and want a good one shot this will work. Otherwise save your money.

This is a great addition to the Darwin's World Series of d20 Modern Books. It covers the material needed to integrate Beastmen into a campaign, and it includes a bunch of different types of animal types to try as a Beastman. It has new feats, defects and mutations, to name a few things. Good deal for the price.

LIKED: High quality, which is typical of RPGObjects offerings. Plenty of variety.

DISLIKED: Its a bit on the short side, with the print version weighing in at only 11 pages. I'd have liked more flavor text, which is usually very interesting.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied

Though the selection of animals (mostly mammals with a few birds and a fish) is somewhat limited, the GM should be able to create his own genotypes with little effort. The real bonus here is the new mutations and defects. The latter bring a realistic look at herbivore/carnivore reactions which I will be using in my Gamma World settings.

A needed supplement for DW, I have to give it 5 stars.

Pretty good. I like the wide range of base animal types from wich the Beastmen are derived, as it saves me the trouble of of trying to adapt further genetically engineered moreaus for my D20 Future campaign from the rules in Savage Species for Anthropomorphic animals, which did not fit well. In Beastmen, just add a simple bonus to one attribute, one skill, and a few free mutations & drawbacks, and your good to go. Many of the mutations referenced are new and included in the file, but there a few from the Darwin's World main book, which I reckon I'll have to get now. Since I'm planning a Space Opera campaign, the post-apocalyptic themed prestige class and sample NPCs weren't as much use to me, but I suppose they'd be handy to you if that's what you're looking for.

LIKED: Quick & Easy rules to create animal-human hybrids.

DISLIKED: I would have preferred if all mutations referenced were printed with the document, but I understand that most people who get it will probably already have the core book and would be annoyed at such reprinting.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied

They say good things come in small packages, well this is a great thing. In just 10 pages, this pdf, changes the face of Darwin's World! And that new face is a furry face (or scaly, or feathered).

Beastmen are presented as a template, you give up your normal starting Mutations in exchange for an Ability bonus, Skill bonus, Permanent Class skill and two species-based Mutations and Defects.

There are several new Mutations and Defects, a new Advanced class; The Alpha: A feral warrior with a pack of Animal Companions. There are also a NPC group called the Pack, a bandit group of Beastmen.

I do hope we will see a Botanical PC book next.
