This is an outstanding "Blue Book" resource for the World of Darkness. Providing an interesting framework for the inclusion of demons (the hell based as opposed to the God Machine variety) into any WoD game you may be running.

WoD: Inferno tries to avoid the centrism on western occult traditions and abrahamitic religion that was prevalent in the Old World of Darkness. In Inferno, demons are not necessarily fallen angels but vice-spirits with some additional special characteristics. They gain power from sins committed by others.

From the premise of creating a product that is not limited to western/christian ideas of demons, the authors did quite good. Unfortunately, the introductory chapter creates the feeling that the author(s) didn't really like the theme of demons. This feeling is less prevalent in the following chapters.

In taking a broader and more general view of demons, some mood and flavour is unfortunately lost compared to e.g. Demon: the Fallen. The demon of WoD: Inferno feel more impersonal - forces of nature rather than malicious individual minds and personalities. I still like the product and the ideas presented in it - such as the Possessed - but it is a very different product from the demon-related supplements to oWoD.

Another impressive product from White Wolf, easily on a par (in terms of art, layout and design) with their best works. It is also a very well realized gaming supplement which offers a robust package of pre-created demons, a solid mechanical basis upon which to forge your own and a suprisingly clever, well designed system to create characters who are possessed.

If you're looking to add a demon touch to your World of Darkness, this book is definitely everything you need.
