Little Fears (10th Anniversary Edition)
Publisher: FunSizedGames

This is a great catch for those who loved the original version of "Little Fears" or the newest "Nightmare Edition"

This book goes thru the original version of Little Fears and polishes it up, fixes some game mechanic issues, removes some redundant clunkiness and brings it back as the 10th anniversary version. Jason put in a bunch of "notes boxes" explaining the changes he made to the original book and why he made them. This goes for rules modifications, world changes, and NPCs as well. Jason also put in alternate rules so that if you want to play, the game will work a lot better.

This book fits a lot more in the "dark horror" genre while the Nightmare Edition fits a bit more into the "dark faery tale" genre. The mechanics are simple enough and the character builds are easy to understand. However there are a lot of dark and disturbing topics addressed in this book, but it is done masterfully.

Sleep tight

LFNE Book 2: Among the Missing

This is a GREAT supplement to "Little Fears, Nightmare Edition." Many other rule books offer "more classes" or "more perks" or even "more gear." The whole bigger, better, stronger, and faster kind of idea. This book doesn't do that. Instead, it grows the world of Little Fears. It adds more creepy places and creepy scenarios. Scary places that are neither closet land nor the real world. Among the Missing gives the players a chance to play (or interact with) one of the "Missing." And it gives rise to different motivations and different types of monsters.

A big worry was that this book would treat the idea of missing children either in a fantastic or kind of flippant way. It doesn't do that. This book treats the concept of "The Missing" with respect and the touch of sadness that it deserves. Reading the stories are heartbreaking.

Little Fears is a game based on imagination, fear, and hope. This book just adds another layer to each of them.

If you like Little Fears, Nightmare Edition then I would recommend this supplement. It makes the world larger than just your Cul-De-Sac

LFNE Campfire Tales #1: Beggars Night

This is a module for the RPG "Little Fears, Nightmare Edition." It's set in pretty much Anytown USA during Halloween Trick or Treat time. It is a very well thought out story with a lot of detail going into the background/world of the adventure. The NPCs and Monsters are more than just stats on a sheet. The Module goes a bit deeper into them, giving them depth. This will help bring in the players. This module is different from many as it is a lot more "story oriented" rather than target number oriented. There is a lot of help built into each scene so that the GM can guide the party to the dramatic reveal.

I would recommend reading the campfire tale from front to back so that the GM knows where the story is going to go.

All in all, it's a fun one shot and perfect for Halloween!

Tales from the Floating Vagabond - First Edition

This is freaking hilarious! Imagine if you took the tech genre, fantasy genre, and the intrigue genre and decided to have the super serious nature of each take a hike. You can try to play this all serious, but why would you?! This game seems it was MADE so that you can have a night of laughter with your mates while chucking dice. When your Shadowrun games gets a bit too intense and your World of Darkness gets a bit too heavy, break this game out. It's ideal for the one night long session and you'll never have the same thing twice. Be careful not to drink while playing. Soda REALLY hurts when it comes out of your nose.

I love this game! The system is simple but allows so much freedom and imagination. The creator's writing style is easy to understand while giving so much flavour to the entire genre. This is a place where the monsters of Grimms Fairy tales, Jim Henson's "The Storyteller", and creepy things of local legends can all come to life. You and your friends get to play the kids who are the only ones who can fight and defeat these horrors. The world created here is rich and full with a lot of room for your own imagination.

This game is good for seasoned RPers as well as first timers. You just need to be aware that this game is much less structured than many other RPGs. So a lot of the "munchkin policing" needs to be done by the players and the GM.

The fact that the creator had the foresight to include "cheat sheets" at the end of the book for quick reference is pretty awesome as well.

The modules for this game, called "Campfire Tales," are great too. A great springboard to get the dice, and creative juices flowing.
