This book should be your #2 buy after you get your hands on Stars Without Number. The sourcebook covers a wider range of ship building options, naval careers, and genreally plays up the space side of being in space.

this is a must if you wanted to play anything from a deep explorer with the latest upgrades in their craft, to inner-system freebooters loaded with contraband gear.

A tight and always useful book.

If you like a bit of Horatio Hornblower in your spaceship campaign, Skyward Steel gives it to you - and in some ways, its campaign advice is as good as if not better than Clash Bowley's "In Harm's Way." I'm particularly impressed by the writing quality, which seems to have improved a notch from Stars Without Number, which is no slouch in the writing department either...

The greatest supplement for Stars Without Number to date. It has everything from how to build a navy for a planet, to fullscale naval conflict resolution. It only lacks one thing, the inclusion of the Psychic character class, I was thinking of seeing a Psychic Astrogator, or a Psychic Gunners Mate, especially after see the Precognitive Nav Chamber, in the Core Book, or at least some further rules for usage of the device. But alas, the MESses are left out in the cold again. But other than this small criticism, there are no equals to this game. I have been overjoyed with from my first purchase of the core rulebook. Keep up the good work, and please add some love for the Psychic.

Another great product for a great game. Stars Without Number is quickly becoming my game system and setting of choice and this supplement, Skyward Steel, makes a great addition to my collection.

The book is extremely well written and contains a large amount of material for the price.

It can also provide inspiration for a variety of other SF games, such as Traveller, Thousand Suns, Star Wars, just about anything.

The sections on how to create a planetary space navy are very clear and the author provides three detailed examples.

I highly recommend this product.

Another 5-star, extremely well-written and useful supplement for the exemplary Stars Without Number.

The adventure seeds and naval campaign guidelines will be useful for any GM running SWN or even other SF RPGs such as Traveller, Thousand Suns and so on. The new "Battle Stations" rules provide a great approach allowing each PC to take part in space combat. SNP continues to flesh out the rich (but optional) background of SWN post-Scream and Silence in Skyward Steel. The sample starships, fleet and construction rules (including expanded design elements) are a great balance between lightweight and custom crunch.

Well bookmarked, but note that the PDF is secured, disabling GM's ability to add their own notes.
