This is a piece of nostalgia worth buying. if you played Traveller in the original boxed set (ol`grognard edition), you will have probably perused a least one JTAS and enjoyed at least one article or adventure from it. It is a prodigious resource for GMs & players both old & new.

Some of the articles require revising depending on your version being played (I`m using the Mongoose Traveller edition in my campaign) and some articles are outdated or have been surpassed by more modern rule sets (Remember: Traveller has been in one iteration or another since 1977!).

None the less, it still has a cornucopia of adventures, articles, primers, devices, equipment, weapons, ship classes, deck plans, variant rules & more for anyone who plays or GMs this game.

For example, JTAS #1 contains the classic adventure "Ànnic Nova" which has been reprinted as an official Traveller double adventure 1 (which are hard to find). Each subsequent issue of JTAS has a least one adventure (full or seed) to wet the appetite of any GM.

As well, there are new ships or variants to use. A player wanted a more distinct looking scout courier, so I used the Serpent class scout courier (complete with deck plans from JTAS 2.)

All in all, it worth a look at. If anything, it can serve as inspiration for GMs of this RPG.

Classic Traveler in its heydey. Aliens, characters, ships and complete adventures. The JTAS went on to become Challenge Magazine starting with issue 25; but prior to that it was pure Traveler. Complete your collection or open a whole new wave of gaming material for the science fiction game that sets the standard that others are judged by.
