I always love products coming from GRAmel and I was looking forward to this one with great excitement. I certainly wasn't disappointed in their latest offering. As I've come to expect from GRAmel they keep true to the FFF motto of Savage Worlds by adapting the setting to the core rules and only making small adjustments to help improve game play instead of adding new swaths of rulings. Their take on energy shields was one such interesting ruling that finally set to rest how I'll be working shields in all my future games. The setting itself is what I look for in my space opera settings. Humanity on the brink of destruction having to fight creatures that should by all rights not exist, but sheer stubbornness is starting to pay off and perhaps destruction isn't as assured as they thought. I would call this another great release by GRAmel and would highly recommend you pick it up.

This is another wonderful book from Gunmetal Games. I love the layout of the book with the Net conversations on the side showing what characters from the world think of the text. The art work really inspires me with character ideas to compliment the descriptions and stories of the city. On a last note I love anything that gives me and my players new "toys" to play with in the form of weapons and vehicles and this book doesn't disappoint. I can't wait for their Mallmart catalog to come out if it's going to have equipment that is detailed and interesting like these.

Beasts & Barbarians Golden Edition

I've had a chance to read through this new offering from GRAmel and I have to say I really love it.

As a Savage Worlds fan I've been looking for a setting to really give that "Conan the Barbarian" feel and this has captured it quite well. In addition to a background story that has the feel of evolving cultures It gives hindrances and edges that really can capture the feel of the barbaric sword and sorcery.

In the end as a GM my main concern ends up being the advice and useful tools they give to help run the game and they have quite a few. Potential setting alterations such as advice on how to run a more humorous game or running games with one or two players. The one I like the most is a deck based adventure generator for those times when you just couldn't come up with anything for the game that eve.

Mix this with a well stocked list of antagonists both monstrous and not and you have a great campaign setting that I can't wait to run at the next gaming session.
