If the idea of a weapon that grows in power with a character appeals to you, and fits within your campaign, this book is for you. Even if you are unsure on the weapon evolution mechanic, they are interesting and inspirational magic weapons for a campaign.
Legendary Weapons (a sequel to Legendary Blades) is a 25-page PDF (23-pages if you remove the credits/OGL page) for the Pathfinder RPG written by Mark Gedak and Stefen Styrsky and published by Purple Duck Games.
The layout is a standard 2-column format with clear tables. The art is black and white and each weapon has an accompanying illustration.
The basic idea of the legendary weapon is that they grow with their owner, starting as a basic +1 weapon, an owner who attunes to a weapon gains greater benefit and can access greater power as they go up in level. Essentially, the weapon levels as the character that owns it does allowing a character to use a single weapon throughout their adventuring career.
Legendary Weapons includes fourteen weapons (two of which were previously published in Horrors of the GOW which is noted in their description) ranging from the simple staff to sword, bow to pole arm and even a new type of sword (the temple sword). Weapons for rogues and spell-casters as well as fighters, a good mix of options. Beyond that the weapons cover a wide range, servants of gods and dark powers, nature and the otherworld, weapons of heroes and weapons of villains. By the time the weapons reach their maximum power, they are quite impressive as befits the primary magic weapon for a 20th level character.
Beyond the weapons, there is one spell and four creatures statted out: two summoned beings, one heroic treant, and one enemy that one of the weapons was designed to defeat. So, there is quite a bit of content packed in here, something which Purple Duck has proved quite good at.
