I didn't buy this to actually play, more just for reading and to see what goodies I could use for my own purposes. I haven't finished reading the whole thing yet, but what I have read so far I have liked.

DISLIKED: I don't like the card based rules. Not my thing I guess. I'm a big fan of dice.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
moody and evocative setting and background, but didn't care for the card-based mechanics. Needs errata and supplements...

LIKED: two words: POST. Hi to all, Just few lines about the last mini core game released by PJR. I bought Motocaust last week end and I've finish to read it.

This is a nice game with splendid artwork from Mr Christopher Shy and some piece of fiction that are in the special mood of the thema... The backstory setting: Near Futur, the Crash of a Comet, the end of Civilisation and the beginnning of the NecroEra... This is Mad Max Trilogy meeting Day of the Dead... cool...

In 52p, you have all the necessary stuff you need for playing the game. From Character and vehicule creation to combat and pursuit rules; and the description of the setting. It's not really fun one but that's a good and hard rock'n roll one ! (Play Motocaust with White Zombie or Ministry soundtrack is a real good game experience !)

I'm not a big fan of the card based part of system (vehicule rules) that PJR put in this game (card are used as randomiser) because I think cards are not in the mood of the game... As a GM, I will prefer and choose a simple and oldschool dice based system instead cards...

Well, at the end, I love this game but I must confess that with 4 or 5p of campaign seeds, the game would have been a perfect strike... I hope PJR will release special stuff for it on the dedicaced website he created for the game.

Regards, RiP

A dead-on-target game, combining to great "tastes" that turn out to be great together: zombies and cars. A self-contained game with light rules and great artwork . The artwork universally matches and enhances the setting; not a single piece suffers from "bought and worked in" syndrome.

If you like the Car Wars genre and zombie movies/gaming to boot, you should enjoy reading and running Motocaust.

A fun little game that has all the necessary basics covered, from combat to souping up your car to providing suitable cannon fodder.

My only gripe ist the exclusion of machine pistols from the weapons list (minor, as you can easily extrapolate the necessary stats) and the somewhat esoteric vehicular combat system; I'm not a big fan of using playing cards as randomizers. Though it works well enough in practice, I would have preferred the inclusion of a dice-based alternate system.

The artwork is stunningly beautiful, and the fiction fits the mood perfectly. The 50 pages make for easy printing, yet include all the necessary stuf to play.

This one is a keeper!
