Aquatic Hazards by Reality Deviant Publications is a collection of sixteen of the odd and dangerous things that may be encountered on the seas of magical worlds. It is a twenty-page document, of which one is the cover and another is the OGL licence. Several thematic pieces of clipart are used to illustrate this work.
This product opens with the traditional ?how to use this book? section which includes a general discussion about the ocean in magical worlds, how to use the encounters, how that can be adapted to other settings (such as a dungeon) and how the hazards are formatted in the rest of the work.
The sixteen hazards range from clouds of various sorts, fungi and sponges, and strange magical effects (however, there is no Bermuda Triangle-like portals to other places). Each hazard is given a Challenge Rating to rate how dangerous each is, the CRs range from one up to six with a few variables and some others which affect the CR of other beings encountered within them. The main caution is using these hazards is even though they may not directly threaten the characters, many of them will badly damage (or destroy) the ship there are traveling on.
A single new spell is included which duplicates the effects of one of the hazards (?Create Dimensional Cloud?).
This is a useful resource for those Dungeon Masters which like to include strange and unusual encounters and dangers as part of the adventurers travels, with the caveat noted above.

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Satisfied
