Character sheets come a dime a dozen. Heck, any decent google search can produce 6 to 12 decent ones, and by decent I mean they will let you put the basic information. But, if you really care about your character, you don?t want the Volkswagen Beetle of Character Sheets, you want the blinged out Navigator with the extra base speakers.
That is what Creative Mountain Games wants from their new product, The More Better Indispensable Character Formfolio.
Let it be known. You are not getting a measly 1 page character sheet for your purchase price. You are getting a big ?ole 17 page journal to detail every little tidbit of your character. You can either print this out, which would be a waste, or type it directly on to the screen. This is very handy for the new laptop rpgers. All of your basic information is covered, though there is no space on the primary stat sheet for additional variation options, something I would like to see in a different version. However, that is just a small omission. The designers seemed to have thought of everything else. I especially like that if they did not think of something, there are 3 or 4 blank places in most of the spots to add your own. After the base sheet, there is a gears and more page followed by a series of spell sheets and summoned monster pages. Again all expandable pages that can include content from other stuff.
My only gripe is that you need the latest copy of Microsoft Acrobat to edit and save the pdf. Acrobat runs at $200+. I also think it would have been cool to actually include the summoned monster stats.
For the Player
Demanding Dms like the Iron DM require players to have all of their stuff at their fingertips. This product also makes for a more organized player at the game table. Though the total page count of this is 17 pages, the average player will probably only use 5 or 6 sheets (as most of the sheets are spell lists and monster lists for other classes.
The Iron Word
This is a luxury character sheet for anyone whom has Microsoft Acrobat and five bucks to spend on a character sheet. The price seems a tad bit high, but worth it for those whom want to stay super organized.
LIKED: - organized and clean
- spots for everything
- enjoyed the inclusion of a notes section
- certain areas are expandable
DISLIKED: - no innovation. Wished they would have had spots for things outside of the norm
- the price makes this a luxury and not a necessity
QUALITY: Acceptable
VALUE: Satisfied
