Strain Basic sees like a good concept, however i was hoping for somethbing a little more structured in the skill department. maybe releasing a campaign with some pre made characters to go along with it to give clear examples. also it should be noted i am a relatively new table top player and dm so take this with a grain of salt.

DDAL07-05 Whispers in the Dark (5e) This is the combat module of the 3. The first encounter is rough, particulary if you split the party (or if they split themselves). The second one is very difficult. This is what I would expect from a tier capstone, similar to the big bad of Hartkiller's Horn

DDAL07-04 A Walk in the Park (5e) IMO, the weakest of the trillogy. I have been running this at 1 1/2 hours, mostly roleplay. I love that the focus is on RP and Exploration, and the mudslide has been enjoyable. Other than that, the module is forgettable

DDAL07-02 Over the Edge (5e) Nice to see a 5 mini for T2. The module has a little bit of everything, with some chances to use non offensive magic, more crowd control basis. Overall, a good intro to Chult and T2

DDEX1-13 Pool of Radiance Resurgent (5e) Wow! It was my first Tier 2 as a n00b DDAL DM. IMO it required quite a bit of prep time to get the timelines/story/scenarios down, but it ran wonderfully. No matter how much I prepared, my players did something different which was exciting. The whole story unfolds at the table - a great opportunity to get to know your players (for better, or sometimes for worse...heh).

DDEX1-06 The Scroll Thief (5e) An excellent module with plenty of RP fun, a hunt, a few exciting encounters with hostiles. Quite a bit of material to digest, but if you know it well, it flows wonderfully.

Pro RPG Audio: Corporate Office Real nice atmosphere, really handy for setting the mood of being in the corporate machine. I just really wish there were a quieter night time version for those late-night Shadowruns.

The Perilous Wilds

The Perilous Wilds Some fun things are in here that add depth to designing the wilderness in your campaign setting. Particularly the method of communally drawing the world map is something I’ve used in many of my games. However the format of many rollable tables and more complexity of rules clashes with the spirit of Dungeonworld's impromptu rules-lite feel. You want to give the GM just enough to help them tell a story, not bury your nose in dozens of pages of tables. Some of the choices are also baffling, like rollable tables or moves where nothing happens: you can roll for a hireling's background and get "unremarkable" or roll to gather hirelings and have no one show up. This is overtly contrary to the core of Dungeonworld that every roll makes something happen. Also the name lists in the back are great, but I hope you like Hungarian, Yoruban, Finnish, and Indonesian names because that's all you get. Why they don't have lists of more standard easily pronounceable names is beyond me. It's a shame for a...

INDEX CARD RPG Vol. 1

INDEX CARD RPG Vol. 1 Let me say, that the cards are AWESOME! Bought Vol. 1 & 2. I use them in my D&D campaign right now (you can use them in any medieval fantasy system you like), and my players love them. Straightforward, fast, simple and to the point. DM's who like Narrative & Theater of the Mind style of game, look no more. Cost and printer-friendly. My only complaint: Would like to see some more! I feel the next (fantasy) volume should focus more on: - Wilderness (Rivers, forest, roads/crossroads, mountains, fauna/flora...) - Urban (Streets/roads, specific buildings/locations, sewers, interior...) ...

The Harbinger

Verlag: Alderac Entertainment Group

The Harbinger Silver dragons are the embodiment of all that is good and honourable... so why is one tearing up the countryside, terrorising villages and heading straight for the peaceful and prosperous settlement of Brookvale? It doesn't look like it has come for the museum, the library or the temple, either. The DM's Background explains all, including the identity of the silver dragon and why it's behaving in the way that it is... and why it's going to be quite tricky to deal with the dragon without causing further problems for the town. It's suggested that for best effect, the party should already know Brookvale - as residents or frequent visitors - so that they'll be invested in a cultural centre with a fine library, a museum full of historic artefacts and a big temple, all cared for by a kindly wizard and the local high priest. The adventure proper starts when they are there and residents of an outlying village, which is under attack by a dragon, flee into town and ask for their help. They...

Forever Young (5E)

Forever Young (5E) An Endzeitgeist.com review This brief pdf clocks in at 8 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page SRD, leaving us with 6 pages of content, so let’s take a look! So, there is some merit to playing kids. For one, if your players ARE kids, it may make sense to start playing as kids and then transition to adult adventurers after e.g. a “formative” adventure in youth; similarly, adult adventurers turned into kids can be a nice change of pace. In PFRPG, the massive toolkit “Childhood Adventures” makes for a great way to depict all the eventualities, but at least to my knowledge, no such toolkit exists for 5e…apart from this one. Now, before we start, it should be noted that the focus here is strictly on the “start playing as kids”/formative adventure-angle; everything beyond that is beyond the scope of this pdf. It costs $1.00. What did you expect? So, how does this pdf go about codifying kids? We begin with a child creation outline: The book knows three age categories: Infant (wh...
