The Village of Darganford The map is beautiful and there is a version included without those letters (i.e. Player and GM version as png, GM version also as pdf). I have printed it (png) out on DIN A4 and really love it (5475 x 3672px)! So I totally recommend. There should be more maps like this one at assassin games.

DDAL05-19 Eye of Xxiphu (5e)

DDAL05-19 Eye of Xxiphu (5e) This adventure is not challenging at all, but you know what? I'm over it. The story is super fun and my players really enjoyed breaking out all their T4 goodies to smash the bad guys, and they told me they felt like the module put a lot of pressure on them anyway. I especially love the Morkoth's museum. The Toga of Zagyg was particularly amusing. But the setpiece battles were also a lot of fun. I'm glad I didn't ramp up the difficulty—playing it as written, we finished in almost exactly 4 hours. In the last one, I managed to make the players actually fear for their lives by throwing Slarkrethel at them, but it also made the game go way over time. One thought I had that I didn't end up going with was having Dworkin open up by casting Antimagic Field, under the theory that, yeah, he's a powerful mage who'd be giving up his magic, but the adventurers are powerful mages too, and if nobody has any magic, they're puny humans, but he's still a giant. Ultimately I decided the 8th level spel...

DDEX2-03 The Drowned Tower (5e)
by Jasmine L.
Publisher: Wizards of the Coast
Date Added: 12/13/2017 13:37:25
DDEX2-03 The Drowned Tower (5e) This is a pretty standard adventure. Nothing too out of the ordinary. You've got some roleplaying sections in the first half and then a straightforward dungeon crawl in the second half. The tower itself fell a liiittle bit flat for me. I wish that the floors felt more connected to each other instead of "Here's a self-contained combat encounter with some cultists. Okay, now go down the stairway...and here's another self-contained combat encounter with some cultists." They don't reinforce each other? Maybe respond to the sounds of shouting and combat upstairs and try to prepare an ambush? Instead it's written as a linear series of three encounters—and the last one is prepared for the players not because they were stomping around making a racket right above him, but because his magic item warned him somehow (a property which it does not actually have, incidentally). Oh, and I want to lodge a complaint about the Weird Tanks, which are kind of nonsense, as they work completely differe...

Pax Cthuliana Review originally posted at [GeekNative.com](https://www.geeknative.com/60578/signs-end--
times-review-pax-cthuliana/): If I could pin down the spark in Pax Cthuliana, it comes down to a combination of excellent handouts and the cult of personality. At heart, Pax Cthuliana – a 72-pages investigation, written by Jarle Haktorson, with art and handouts by Joseph Diaz and Even V. Røssland – runs a fairly linear path from start to finish, branching occasionally before returning to a common path. I found the word node coming to mind – you have some clear indications of where you need to go and who you need to see. There’s no sand boxing going on here, despite setting the whole thing in the heart of London. However, it could be a fine analogy to compare Pax Cthuliana to a well-organised tourist bus trip around the highlights of England’s capital city, combined with stops to meet the well-heeled and notable locals. I won’t spoil it by saying where and who crops up along the way, but the...

The Midderlands - OSR Bestiary and Setting

The Midderlands - OSR Bestiary and Setting So I've been looking over The Midderlands - OSR Bestiary and Setting pdf last night during a wicked ice storm. This morning I'm looking over the Midderlands setting last night & can't seem to shake the feeling I've seen this style of setting before. But first what is the Midderlands, "A green-hued, dark-fantasy, old-school mini-setting and bestiary set in a twisted middle-England." So what do I possibly mean I've seen this style of OSR setting before? The Drivethrurpg blurb goes into far more detail;" "Situated in the middle of Havenland is an area known by the ancestors as the Middle Havenlands. They don’t use that name much any more, preferring to talk lazily, and skip letters. In strange accents, often misheard and little understood by those outside of the central region - they call it “The Midderlands”, and themselves “Midfolk” or “Midderlanders”. There are many peculiar folk that call these Midderlands home. Generally mistrusting of outsiders, they suspiciously eye str...

CT-TTB-The Traveller Book There are plenty of reviews that could tell you why this RPG is great so instead I'll talk about the print-on-demand hardcover format that I got. It took a month for it to arrive, though that might be because of the quantity of orders around christmas. The book itself arrived without any damages, in perfect condition. The text is clearly readable everywhere with the only quality downgrade being with some of the images, specifically the ones depicting space scenes. The main objects, ships, people ect are clear, it's the background starfield what's missing details. The occasional red colored images are a bit darker than what's in the PDF version, though it's not something you'd realise without comparing them side by side. All in all I can't not recommend this option for those of you who'd want to get this classic game in book form....

Frigid Reflections An Endzeitgeist.com review The finale of the „Beyond the Glittering Fane“ adventure arc clocks in at 73 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 2 ¾ pages of SRD, 1 page back cover, leaving us with approximately 67 ¼ pages of content, quite a massive module! This being an adventure-review, the following contains SPOILERS. Potential players should jump to the conclusion. … .. . All right, still here? After their hard-earned triumph in the furious preceding module, the PCs are contacted by Knight-commander Erik Ullsteinnr, who shares a rather odd observation – some of the vanquished undead in the recent conflict seem to leave preternaturally cold shards of ice; his concern also has a personal dimension: An old friend of his, the dwarf Skimmr, may be succumbing to the stone touch; thus, the PCs set out towards the town of Utvikle, but en route, they are once again beset by potent foes, namely raiders that have succumbed to the dreaded rage fever! Pretty cool, btw.:...

Everyman Minis: Spells of Childhood An Endzeitgeist.com review This installment of the Everyman Minis-series clocks in at 7 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page SRD,1 page advertisement, leaving us with 3 pages of content, so let’s take a look! So, in case you’re wondering – while, as a whole, perfectly capable of being used on its own, this pdf ultimately should be seen as an expansion to Everyman gaming’s Childhood Adventures-book, which focuses on all the aspects of playing kid/adolescent PCs. As the introduction noted, magic for kids and children may actually have a different focus than that of adults – the priorities and, indeed, way in which the world is perceived, is different. This does NOT, however, make them change their priorities – kids want adult magic and have smart concepts of what would be useful and what wouldn’t. Instead of thus thinking of children as different in their sensibilities, the focus of the spells herein is on the experience of childhood and its aspects – and what...

Caster Prestige Archetype: Souldrinker An Endzeitgeist.com review The final installment of the Caster Prestige Archetype-series clocks in at 9 pages, 1 page front cover, 2 pages of SRD, leaving us with 6 pages of content, so let’s take a look! At this point, after I have covered 3 whole series of prestige archetype classes, I assume that you’re familiar with the concept and won’t bore you again with an explanation; instead, let us focus on the first thing you’ll note, namely a significant array of favored class options provided for the class, one that goes beyond the core and more uncommon races and also features several of Porphyra’s more exotic options. These generally add spells with limits based on race and also feature some enhancers for durations, racial feature uses, etc. Balance-wise, I noticed no broken components here. It should be noted that this is one of TWO such lists – the general list provided exists alongside a souldrinker specific FCO-list, which includes a couple of rather interesting, flavorful o...

SND-01: Revenge of the Iron Lich The point I read and ran **Revenge of the Iron Lich** years ago was the point where I felt I truly had become a great dungeon master, and I could not have done it without this. This adventure is perfectly designed to be fast paced and extremely fun. I especially love the use of "real time" in the adventure, which has significantly helped to keep player attention at the table, and the "rumor system." And of course, the over the top hyper-deadliness gets the blood pumping like nothing else.** One of my favorite adventures ever written, hands down**....
