Lost Roads of Lociam is a fantasy roleplaying game, and is now in into its 15th edition, starting back in the 90s.

In the current edition - the Age of the Black Chaimara, the era of peace has ended, and a time of civil strife has begun, as the armies of the ancient pantheon of the Black Chaimara has pitted brother against brother in bloody wars across most civilized lands.

The game uses a novel D100 system, breaking a character down into traits that govern all activities, including such things as athletics, communications, perception, magic, faith and wealth.

The books are all richly illustrated and the Core rulebook is free, meaning that you have more money to invest in some dice to play. The introductory adventure is also free, along with Example characters that are available for download. If you want to make your own you can get The World To Be, which is the character creation ruleset.

The stuff from the older edition (sadly not compatible with the new one) is no longer available, as all the contents is being reworked for the new version.
