Detailed Map of the Free City

The most detailed and complete map of the city of Zobeck, as drawn by Sean Macdonald.

This is a large (20" by 15"), 4-panel map that overlaps neatly and is suitable for any adventure in the city. Zoomable detail makes it perfect for use on a laptop or iPad, and printable quality makes it useful as a paper tool for party scheming on the tabletop.

This map details more than 60 locations described in the Zobeck Gazetteer.

Detailed locations, vibrant color, and a complete street plan from the Arcane Collegium to the Kobold Ghetto, and from the Greenmarket Barracks to the Puffing Bridge. The city lies before you, rich in adventure!

OK, folks are complaining about the product being broken up into four images...but it's not too hard to extract a single jpg or png file from it (but, yes that should have been included). Once downloaded,in Adobe Reader, just click on the map (c [...]

The thumbnail image misleadingly shows a full map image, but the actual map you get is divided into four sections. This makes it useless for Roll20. I want the whole map in one image or my money back. [...]

I agree with John R. that this needs to also have a single map image instead of just being broken up into 4 maps. Though it is theoretically possible to get one if the PDF is stripped of protection, then you can find the full image in Illustrator as [...]

The plusses: great detail, great artwork, high quality The minuses: they mention it being great for viewing on an iPad -- it's not. The 4 panel PDF nature makes it so that it's impossible to view as 1 large map. It would be better if they dis [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
