Tales of ancient religions come and go, and the origins of few of them are remembered, the gods themselves having been long ago forgotten. But the priest-king of Mires Ford is remembered even by those who no longer remember where Mires Ford once stood, nor what ancient and strange gods were priest-king’s master. Tales make the priest-king to be the most potent servitor of the gods in the ancient world, when Mires Ford was a lush, tropical city, instead of the ancient necropolis of the Northlands that it is now. The ancient gods of those times granted the priest-king potent abilities unlike those seen in any other follower of the gods. He took the magics of the gods and rules Mires Ford and the lands around in their name, for century upon century.

As the world changed about him, the priest-king became more entrenched in his ways. As the ages passed, the people about him changed in their faith, and even the gods changed their ways. The Priest-King outlived his own gods as a lich, holding desperately to his seat of power and the divine energies invested in him.

But no lordship is eternal and even the Priest-King, now the Ur-Lich, fell aside, and was nearly forgotten.

But the great powers invested in his form by the ancient deities are still here, a last remnant of lost gods that none would otherwise remember. In the very teeth of the priest-king those powers were embedded, and those who would take the power of the gods for themselves can take these teeth and place them in their own mouths to steal their powers.

This short PDF details all 32 of the Ur-Lich's magical teeth, their effects, their appearance, and their last-known whereabouts. Not only are these ancient and magical artifacts, but a series of plot hooks and adventure ideas in the quest to recover the full set of the teeth, and to claim the power of the priest-king.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
