Vyllage-on-the-Cheep COLOR Ancient Ruins

ADD TO WISHLIST >

The crumbling ruins of an ancient temple or castle is a classic setting for adventure, and now MicroTactix brings these places to life in 3D cardstock kits with the new full-color Vyllage-on-the-Cheep? Castle Ruins and Ancient Ruins modular building kits. Designed by Gary M. Williams for use with any fantasy role playing or miniatures game, these kits join a growing line of full color downloadable sets which can be combined and used to build complete fantasy cities.

Ancient Ruins - Remnants of Lost Greatness!
When you want more variety and detail in ruined constructs, the Ancient Ruins set is what you need. This set contains modular columns, archways, and stone lintels that can be used to dress up any interior or exterior setting. These are perfect for adding variety to a dungeon hall or standing alone to mark an old temple or altar! Also included are broken wall and floor sections that are completely modular. Use a few to represent the remains of a manor house or small building, or combine them and build an entire ruined amphitheater! The pieces stack to allow you to create multi-level constructs with lots of great detail.

For maximum flexibility, combine this set with the Castle Ruins modular set (MTX-VC3008) with towers, heavy walls, an amazing recessed entrance base unit and much, much more. Build the big stuff, and dress it up with add-ons and details from the Ancient Ruins set -- for just pennies!

All Vyllage-on-the-Cheep sets come as PDF files that can be printed to any printer. Make as many buildings as you choose! Scaled to popular 25 to 28mm miniature figures (or MicroTactix cardstock standup counters), these buildings can easily be reduced during printing to 15mm scale for those who prefer smaller miniatures.

Get the COLOR Ancient Ruins set right now for only $4. You can collect the entire color Vyllage for little more than the original black-and-white Vyllage did when it was released -- and a lot less than any major miniatures game expansion!

Watch for the release of each new color set, and celebrate with us the full-color rebirth of the product line that created the cardstock buildings craze, and heralded the start of the MicroTactix line of products. The Vyllage-on-the-Cheep is brighter, better and more all-around useful than ever -- but it's still... well... cheep!

Cool idea, done not so well. Too many little tabs to glue and folds to make. Could have been done a lot simpler and looked just as good. [...]

I'm in the process of building this set as support for the Lord of the Rings Hexclix game. The pieces make great props and backgrounds for a multitude of situations. Rather than being tied down to a 2D map that gets old and tired after multiple plays [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
