Crimson Blades 2: Dark Fantasy RPG

With a familiar yet different set of rules, Crimson Blades gives you fantastic old school-style dark fantasy/sword & sorcery role-playing. You can be a brooding sorcerer with a demon blade, a savage barbarian with an equally savage panther companion, a grim tomb-robber seeking the riches of a long-dead empire or even a Dendrelyssi - one of the last members of a decadent race of necromancers looking for redemption in the lands they once ruled. Included in the game are seven human character classes: Barbarian, Fighter, Griot, Mountebank, Sorcerer, Thief and Wayfarer plus the inhuman Dendrelyssi and the NPC classes Fleshcrafters, Royal Redeemers and Witches. There are the traditional rules for spell-casting as well as rules for summoning and binding demons, elementals and undead. Included in the game is a brief setting "The Crimson Lands" for you to use as the basis for your own campaign. This is the second edition of the rpg and includes the First edition Crimson Lords supplement.

The download now includes a free D20 version of Crimson Blades.

I have to say I'm getting rather confused about the different versions of the game on Lulu. For the d20version of the game Lulu offers the following...

Crimson Blades D20 (Hardcover)

Crimson Blades 2 D20 Edition

So, other than the fact that one is hardback and one is paperback, what is the difference? If the CB2 is the one to get why isn't it available in hardback like the first version? I'm hoping that they are both the same version with one in HB and one in PB.

Hi. I was sent a coupon for 50% off today but it says it's been redeemed the max amount of times. Seems unfair?! Any chance you could send another?

The ruse worked. I bought it anyway and yes, its good :-) wait a day or two and see if it gets resolved. Damn my impatience!

Sorry to be a little slow on this, being the end of May and all. but I didn't realize that this was available. Not sure if I qualify for any coupon. When I purchased the core book it was version 2.2.

Preview looks OK.
Your previous fantasy RPG (Tombs & Terrors): What happened to that?

Great game, just like your others. I purchased both Crimson Blades and Crimson Lords and just changed my email setting to allow for publisher emails. I'd appreciate a link to the upgraded product. Thanks.

I'll be damned if that isn't one of the coolest cover designs I've seen for an RPG book in years. Including Triple AAA titles!

Do we get the PDF with the Lulu print? I have Crimson Blades x2, Lords and Blades 2 in print!

I generally try to price things so you get a good deal if you buy both. However, I was going to mail you but I can't find you on the email list of purchasers, which means your name must be hidden or I'm going daft. Send me an email and I'll sort something out for you.

As so many previous customers for Crimson Blades haven't received coupons for CB2, I'm sending them again. Hopefully, this will pick up all those who had their accounts set not to receive emails and have subsequently updated them. Apologies to everyone who has received their email coupon already.

Ditto. Bought the first edition and never received a coupon for the second edition.

Like I said below, coupons were sent so it depends how your account is set. More than half of the customers I attempted to email didn't have their accounts set to receive emails so they would have received nothing. Please contact me via the "contact publisher" link to the right.

Hi Simon, that was me, I lost my account in the intervening. I bought the first edition and never got the coupon. I was curious is the d20 version possible to obtain as a free download on its own?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
