MASHED: Camp Cards

ADD TO WISHLIST >
Selected Option:

MASHED is a tabletop roleplaying game that uses Powered by the Apocalypse rules to explore the lives of Korean War medics and affiliated personnel in a Mobile Army Surgical Hospital (MASH).

This deck contains 70 cards displaying various camp tents, structures, and landscape features. As you create your camp through the fiction of a MASHED RPG session, place the appropriate location card on the table roughly where it appears in relation to other locations in and around the camp. Don’t be overly concerned about distance and the space between cards—just treat them as a quick visual reference. It’s an easy and fast alternative to hand-drawing a map! This deck is optional and not required to play the MASHED RPG.

If you order the PDF-only version, you’ll receive a PDF of the card sheets in ‘print-and-play’ format for your home printer, plus a second 'singles' PDF with one image of each card for use in virtual tabletop programs (such as Roll20).

If you order the 'PDF+Cards', you’ll get both PDFs and the physical Camp Cards deck.

The Cards

Included are: Bachelor Officer Quarters (BOQ; 6), Chaplain, Chief Nurse, Club (3), Commanding Officer (CO) Quarters, Enlisted Quarters (10), First Sergeant, Guard Post (4), Hills (3), Hospital, Koreans, Landing Zone (2), Latrine (6), Laundry, Local Building (2), Mess, Minefield (3), Motor Pool (2), Nurses’ Quarters, PX (Post Exchange), Rice Paddy (2), River (2), Road (3), Section (8), Showers, Supply, and VIP (Very Important Personnel) Quarters, and an Instructions Card (for quick reference).

Note: The cards ship banded in a plastic sleeve. Clear plastic deck boxes designed to hold 70 premium quality cards are available from DriveThruCards for only $1.00, and are recommended.

Print-and-Play

Whether you order the PDF-only version or the PDF+Cards, you’ll receive the PDF of the card sheets in ‘print-and-play’ format for your home printer. These can be useful if you decide you want extras of certain cards, but don't want to purchase a second printed deck.

To use, print all pages in landscape format, double-sided, on quality card stock, at 100% size (do not select ‘shrink to fit’ or similar when printing), then trim into cards. For best results, print as noted, but single-sided. Next, line up a front and back sheet, and staple them together along the bottom edge. While holding this ‘folder’ open with one hand, use your free hand to cover the inside of each sheet with spray adhesive, then carefully stick them together. Wait for whatever period of time is recommended by the adhesive instructions, then trim the sheets into individual cards.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
