Local villagers whisper of a mysterious place deep in the marsh - a place shrouded in mist and dotted with barrow mounds, ruined columns, and standing stones. The tomb-robbers who explore beneath the mounds - or rather the few who return - tell tales of labyrinthine passages, magnificent grave goods, and terrifying creatures waiting in the dark. Are you brave (or foolish) enough to enter the Barrowmaze?

Barrowmaze Complete for 5e is a classic old school megadungeon for use with 5th Edition Fantasy role-playing games. Barrowmaze Complete includes everything in Barrowmaze I and II in the same book in addition to new material, art, layout, and cover art by Ex-TSR artist Erol Otus.

Barrowmaze Complete will keep your players on their toes and your campaign going strong.

This edition includes art by the aforementioned TSR artists Erol Otus, as well as Tim Truman, Jim Holloway. New old-school artists include Peter Pagano, Cory Hamel, Stefan Poag, Zhu Bajie, Stephan Thompson, and others.

Hej Mr. Gillespie

I've been in contact with Rogue Comet in regards to the missing dungeon restock table. They say that they can't fix this issue, since all rights to the book went to you after the kickstarter ended. Could you update us on when you intend to update the files to include the table, so the book is complete?

For every room the players visit roll on this table:
Restock (1d6)
1 - Monster
2 - Monster & Treasure
3 to 6 - Empty (1in6 chance of hidden treasure)
Also has a helpful write-up about it.

Wait, has that guy written an 800+ word review and given it 1 star out of 5, based entirely on the book missing 5 lines of text?

Not sure as I am unaware if the monster table related to the restock table is different from the random monster table as that is what I use plus some homebrew monster I like. I just wanted to post the Restock Table just incase other people are looking for it plus where I found it.

I second the vote for a preview. That's a lot to shell out for pages unseen.

Did a little research and found out that Rogue Comet Games did this conversion. I bought Dungeonesque and that pdf was pure XXX. The layout was XXX and it omitted things. For example there are spells in the list not in the book . I'll NEVER buy anything they touch again.

The file comes with a set of six pre-generated characters, but when I open them the sheets are blank.

The book references the Dungeon Restock Table, but that table is missing from the 5E version. It's in the LL version.
Also the fact that is has things like CON Save 11 or die, doesn't feel like a 5E saving throw. There is always a damage value, not an instant kill in any module I've read. Is that on purpose?

For those of us that bought the RPGnow Barrowmaze Complete a few months ago before this 5e version was available, can we get a code or something for a cheaper PDF of the 5e version?

Yeah, I also bought Barrowmaze Complete (as well as Barrowmaze 1!) so I'm having a hard time buying it at full price AGAIN, but I'd love to see what kind of conversion was done.

Really wish this PDF had even the most basic amount of hyperlinked indexing. I kickstarted it, because I wanted to see more excellent 5e gaming material. This still blows all of the Official 5e adventures out of the water, because I can at least copy and paste this text into a text file so I can format it. Also the maps aren't the size of a postage stamp.

Thank you :)

Remember that we are people with jobs too. Game design is just something we do on the side for fun (at least for me lol).

Forgetting about navigation issues, could you perhaps review the product with regard to how well it handles the conversion from OSR to 5th edition? I have used some OSR stuff in the past that was "refactored" to 5e but were basically completely broken for 5e because the designers didn't really have a good grasp of "power equivalency" between say 1e or 2e characters, spells, critters, etc. and their 5e "name and flavor equivalent but not necessarily challenge or balance equivalent" counterparts. In other words, they took items, critters, and etc. from 5e that matched the 1e descriptions but didn't do much to balance things out. Which was OK, for a DM like myself with experience in both OSR and 5e, because I could fix it more or less on the fly, but for a new DM they could easily be handing out Monty Haul game-breaking loot or ending up with Total Party Kills because there's such a vast difference in balance for similarly named/themed things between OSR and 5e. I would be curious how...See more

Does BM 5e follow the new edition's guidelines for treasure and magic item distribution?

Original electronic
Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
