100 Zombie Encounters for the Zombie Apocalypse

Watermarked PDF

During a zombie apocalypse, players are undoubtedly going to come across different zombies. Some of these may be in large, dangerous groups, but these can become boring. Here are 100 different encounters for the zombie apocalypse that are intended to be rather more interesting.

Most of these are for solitary zombies, but some are for groups. Many may appear by surprise or appear to be trapped or too damaged to be dangerous. Players foolish enough to believe that a trapped or damaged zombie is not a threat may come to rue their overconfidence. Some of the encounters may seem rather bizarre, the result of odd behaviour during the apocalypse.

Here is a sample result:

Forklift - A zombie has been impaled on one of the tines of a forklift truck. The tines have been raised high up and, if the forklift is in a warehouse, the zombie may not be immediately obvious. The tine only penetrates the chest, so the zombie isn't dead. It may be able to slide off the tine given enough motivation.

One page is the cover and one an d a bit pages the front matter and introduction.

It looks like this was done in Scribus, and for some reason PDFs exported from Scribus often have problems on Fire tablets (I've had similar problems with some PDFs in the past). I'll update it with an InDesign version which should fix it, although it might take a day or so.

I've uploaded a new version. Hopefully, this should fix the problem.

The text in the full-size preview is garbled.

Hmm, I'm not seeing a problem with it. Can you try a different browser? I'll have to ask OneBookShelf if there's a problem.

I just tried in a different browser (Internet Explorer), and it was blank. Firefox still shows the garbled text, however.

But it works in Google Chrome. Odd. Thanks :)

It is odd; I would have expected IE to have problems, but not Firefox so much, and it works fine in mine. I've asked tech support to take a look at it. Glad you were able to see the preview in the end!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
