Hi, the Mannerisms table roll doesn't work when you use the template. I think the problem is in the template, it's using "Creating Your Own Inn - Mannerism" but the table is actually called "Creating Your Own Inn - Mannerisms" (with an s on the end)

HOLY XXX. this product is really really well reviewed! Anyway, um, does this contain more or less full fifth edition stats for npcs and such, or is it more flavor oriented?

Noticing an issue with the PDF, there appears to be additional text underneath the pages that gets selected when I copy and paste. Some of it is similar, but different from the text on the actual page, almost like an old draft is underneath. For example, copying the Drinks table instead go me a line of text starting with:
"Take the Twilight Tea from the haunted
fields of Alyi. A lot of debate goes
into what gives the leaves their brilliant-
white color, some say it’s the..."

That exact text, though, isn't present in the pdf that I see. The top of page 57 gives similar text, but definitly different. Could you fix this?

Hey Timothy,

That's certainly strange. It would seem indeed like older copy still being present in the printing files, but "outside" of view?
I could not explain it any other way. Thanks for sharing it!

Hello Timothy, apologies for the slow response. This comment slipped my attention.
This is a byproduct of InDesign (the book layout software) that can indeed keep textual information outside of viewable text frames. It seems this is a remnant that should have been culled before publication.
But since its invisible and does not show up as a real "error" in our proofing flow, it is easy to miss. Thanks for spotting :)

Hey guys - spotted typos/issues on the following:
Page 26 - roll 2d6 -> you have a 1d20 table listed instead of a 2-12
Page 36 - lobster borth, I'm assuming you mean lobster broth?

Everything else looks great so far.

Random tables seem to be sparse you can only generate 1 (1.000) things using them?

Book seems really good I'll probably pick it up soon. Definitely a resource I could use.

I think he was making a joke about the fact that you have "Over 1.000 options through random generation tables" instead of "1,000" with a comma.
1.000 = 1.0 = 1

To be fair...IF we are gonna be that way....It says..

"Over 1.000 options through random generation tables"

And there is the ability to create over 1 thing, so not wrong. :)

Hi everyone,

I'm posting during GM's Day sale and it says on the product page "Welcome to the GM's Day sale! From now through March 11th, this digital title has been marked down by 33%!". But the price is still the same ?
I'm pretty sure I saw it around 6-7 dollars yesterday and planned to buy it but the sale seems to be gone ?

Is it an artifact of the DTRPG on-demand printing, or was the book designed with a large cover? I picked up the premium hardcover, and the quality of the print is fantastic. However, I was a little disappointed to see (a) the cover is a bit larger than the typical hardcover: 8 7/8"x 11 3/8" instead of 8 3/4" x 11 1/4", and (b) the cover art doesn't wrap. If it's just how DTRPG does things, then that's good to know. If it was a design decision on your part, that's good to know, too.

Minor typo on the back cover: "... secrets and over a 1.000 random list options." should read "... secrets and over 1000 random list options." Drop the "a" before 1000, and I dropped the thousands separator altogether to follow the conventions I saw in the book, which avoids the localization issue... If you'd like a couple other REALLY MINOR formatting comments, let me know where to send them.

The book is beautiful, and I'll give it a great review once I've...See more

Hey Michael,

Thanks for posting. I am not aware of any misprinting/layout issues with the cover. Would you mind sending a photo to me on the Loresmyth facebook page or at contact@loresmyth.com Happy to get to the bottom of it.

It seems no matter how many editing passes, there always seem to remain minor mistakes. Dang :)

Thanks Chris - I'll shoot you an email asap.

Just to be super clear to anyone reading this, there's nothing wrong with the printing of the book. The quality of the premium printing is really great, and the production value of the contents of the book are fantastic. I just have some specific layout questions, since this is the first Print-on-Demand title I've ever ordered through dtrpg.

The book is standard Letter format 8.5x11 inches, so nothing "out of the ordinary" as far as we are aware :)

Hello! DriveThruRPG offers two "types" of printing. One is standard and one is premium. The latter has a slightly higher printing/color quality. Some customers find the difference small, where as others think it really is worth the extra coin. The content of the book is exactly the same for each.

If you have further questions or need support please mail to contact@loresmyth.com

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
