FUNDED IN FIVE DAYS AT KICKSTARTER!

Sci-fi / Cyberpunk Mini Adventure Cards

A 50 card deck, created for "any" science-fiction / cyberpunk roleplaying game.

This deck consists of:

  • 40 Mini Adventures.
  • 20 MegaCorp logotypes.
  • 240 Random names of MegaCorps and smaller sized businesses.
  • 240 random NPC names.
  • 80 random traits - mutations, cyber-tech or accessories.
  • 40 random weapon icons.
The adventure seeds can be used for a larger campaign, or played out directly while improvising. Use the cards with your favourite science-fiction/cyberpunk RPG.
Use the MegaCorp logotypes as flavor, pick-and-create NPC:s on the fly - and randomize traits, weapons and cyber-tech with a pull-of-a-card!

All this random information can be used to create NPC:s in an improvised setting - or as a GM supplement when creating your own adventures.

The deck was fully funded in five (5) days on Kickstarter. It is now available as both print and download/digital product.

A cool, fully packed and well designed deck for any GM that wants to add hours of fun to any sci-fi/cyberpunk setting!

I really enjoyed using this deck for my Cyberpunk 2020 game. It really provided a lot of opportunity for side jobs to supplement the storyline. Do you have a version for wild/weird west games like Deadlands?

Hi Scott!

Very happy to hear that you have had fun using my card deck! It was a great experience to create it (it changed a lot during the Kickstarter campaign).

I have been thinking of creating similar decks for other genres - fantasy of course - but also horror, detective, etc. Western is a great genre to explore, so that might be interesting to create a similar deck for. Thanks for the suggestion!

Are these cards simple to print up on a home printer?

Hi,

Sorry for late reply on this.

The text-sides are all black/white. The backsides with the random information are color. However, they are layouted in a way so they should be easy to read and quick to understand. I have done some black/white laser-printing at a regular home printer, and that worked fine. The PDF-file has all cards in Poker-size, one after the other, on separate pages. So you will have to be able to specify printing several pages on the same paper, if you want to do so. My own experience however is that it works fine.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
