Well, that won't do at all! I'm terribly sorry that happened, and the responsible party (me) has been spanked (I'm a naughty publisher, yes, I am!). I have replaced the file withe the correct one, so that you may download and play.

Out of curiosity, how different is Second edition Tales From the Floating Vagabond from the original? I still have the original rule book and 3 adventures, and I'm curious if they are easily compatible or not.

If they are significantly different... Is the streamlined version of 2nd ed contained here mostly the full rules or more like a quick start? Thanks!

It's pretty much just a quick start. There are no character creation rules, for instance, but the new rules are much simpler than the original, and you should be able to adapt them to the old adventures with just a little bit of jiggery-pokery*.

*jiggery-pokery is illegal in Kansas and Belgium.

Good to hear! I'll be grabbing a copy for myself shortly then. I was one of the holdouts in regards to Kickstarter until the last 2 years so I'd missed out on yours (would love to kick myself for that by the way).

Will the 2nd ed rules be coming out in physical form for those that missed the KS? I've been a fan of the game since it first came out and I'd buy a copy of 2nd ed in a heartbeat if it does! I saw that there was a big announcement coming on the KS page, but again... I unfortunately wasn't a backer.

Also... No worries on the jiggery-pokery as I'm in Tennessee. They do tend to frown on the good old Target Vomiting here though!

Chase, not to worry; (well, worry, some, I mean - you've seen the world) the 2nd edition will be in hard copy,... eventually. That's all I can say. As for the big news on the KS page... you're soaking in it!

You can definitely count on me to keep my eyes out for it then! Its a great game, and as a fan, I'm very grateful that you gave it new life. I've only just started looking at this PDF, but it looks like a lot of fun and it certainly looks like it captures the greatness of first edition. I can definitely figure out how to incorporate it with what I already have.

I really appreciate you sharing as much as you have with me here. Also, as I have been keeping occasional eyes on the KS comments in hopes of finding out a date for 2nd ed... I wish you much better health and happiness going forward! Thanks again and I'll definitely be owning 2nd ed once its released!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
