The Vampire Tyrants of the Darklands aka All About Creatures of the Night

ADD TO WISHLIST >

It’s time to put a real scare into your players and their characters, but they know too much from the rule books for you to run vampires in a meaningfully scary way.  So do you just leave these phenomenal, classic monsters on the shelf, or do you put in a couple of twists to keep your players off balance?  If you’re a good GM, there’s no question there!

There has been so much written about vampires and other creatures of the night for so many years that it’s hard to gather it all up and choose what to use and what to ignore.  So we did that part for you.  All the legends are here, some detailed as to how they work and some dismissed as urban legends - maybe even the ones your party is relying on.  Too often rule books and too much knowledge take the horror out of FRPG.  Here’s how to put some of it back!

And we promise - None of our vampires sparkle!

If you’re looking for a ton of new ideas, ideas you can easily use in your existing game world or use to craft a new game world, then Small Bites is what you’re looking for.  Our goal is to take a subject, whether an archetype, a monster class, or some other FRPG theme and bring you as much content about it as we can.  But this isn’t a simple one-shot supplement.  We want to get you involved in the process - giving us the themes you want most, the articles you like the best, and the feedback we need to make you happy.

This is the “World Walker” edition.  The Game Master edition gives you even more, including ideas about campaigns, enemy characters, and world building.  We know that veteran and starting players and game masters are all going to find things they can use, and ideas to spark their characters, campaigns and game worlds!  Come on - You’ve got nothing to lose!

This supplement contains 21 pages of content, compared to the full version which contains 57 pages.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
