The Lonely Spire is a dungeon -- one that you crawl up instead of down -- and it’s full of orcs that have no business being close to town and have no rights to the property or the items contained within. It’s as straightforward as stories get in the GRAM Role-Playing Game but sometimes that exactly what you want from a tabletop experience, a beer-and-pretzels light-hearted adventure where everyone wins and there isn’t a lot of drama to serve as a break from the regular campaign or as a bit of escapism when you haven’t had as much time to game. Dragon Reign is definitely more of a hack-and-slash setting, but GRAM’s focus on fun over combat simulation should keep rules lawyering to a minimum as the combat encounters are interesting without being tedious, and there will be some great role-playing opportunities for the players as they evoke their character qualities and highlight allegiances outside of the adventuring party for their own personal gain.
