I bought a these from troll lord’s website last week (from An email Flier I received) and they shipped fast so I appreciate that (but there wasn’t an option for Pdf as well so I only bought the cards). I ended spending the extra ten dollars here today for the pdf because- as an almost 50 year old - I too have a terrible time reading the text. I love the idea and it will make things easier for preparing adventures but I have 2 minor criticisms.
1- as was said before a larger card and text size for older players would be awesome. As it is I’ll probably not use my physical cards and just print out the pdf’s into a more comfortable viewing size.
2- I play AD&D - although I do own all of the C&C core books Including the new monster book (which is super nice), as well as 5e - but my group is old so we play AD&D. So an explanation card inserted into the pack would be helpful. Ie.. when it says internal capacity 20- does that mean 20 pounds? 20 items? 20gp weight? Or slots like in the...See more

Slots like in the legend of the flame princess game? Where there’s a table to show you which items weigh “1”, more than “1” or how many items you can carry before it equals “1”. Thanks.

Hi, those that will be more commonly used, like a standard dungeoneers backpack are repeated. That way if you have two people at the table who want that backpack, they can each pull a card.

wow, these cards, for sure not for the vision impaired. Very small red print and yellow highlights on white backgrounds. Question reason for having normal playing card suits on them?

How about going to Tarot size cards?

When i handed these out almost everyone laughed and searched for something to read the print, usually our games are not in bright daylight well light rooms. Good idea, but in the print version not functional.

Can you guys go bigger?

We've put up several cards as a sample but they keep going back off. I think this might be because this is a printed item only, no PDF of it is for sale yet. I am working on getting a custom preview ready to upload. ~ Tim

Figured it out. It was because the PDF was not for sale. I activated it, and now you can see a sample of the PDF which is exactly how the physical cards look. ~ Tim

I agree! I thought it would show some example cards like the books do, i chose to show 7 pages. But clearly with cards this does not work. I will speak to them and see about a workaround. ~ Tim

There was a glitch in the system but the awesome team at DTRPG (thanks Meredith!) has fixed it and you should be able to see some sample cards now. You may have to clear your cache to get it to work, however. ~ Tim

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
