This is a collection of  Sci-Fi/industrial themed OpenLOCK Riser floor tiles with a diamond plate surface design. These tiles are intended to compliment the correspond pattern of standard floor tiles, 1 inch riser floor tiles and 2 inch riser floor tiles to allow the creation of step-like configurations.

 

The collection includes at least three each of the E, EN, F, FN, H, I, IA, K, S, SA, SB, VE and VN floor tiles from the OpenLOCK (may 2018) standard by printablescenery.com, one of each at two thirds, one and a third and one and two thirds inches riser heights (actually 17mm, 34mm and 42.5mm respectively).

 

The two thirds of an inch (17mm) risers bridge the gap between OpenLOCK Floor Tiles - Diamond Plate Single Oblique Pattern (Medium) and OpenLOCK 1 inch Riser Tiles - Diamond Plate Single Oblique Pattern (Medium), then the one and a third inch (34mm) risers and the one and two thirds inch (42.5mm) risers bridge the gap between the latter 1 inch risers and OpenLOCK 2 inch Riser Tiles - Diamond Plate Single Oblique Pattern (Medium).

 

In addition to the three heights  there are also addition version of some tiles that compensate for the diamond plate pattern not being fully symmetrical when rotated by providing additional versions with the pattern rotated by 90 degrees where necessary.

 

The surface Design is based on the "diamond plate" metal sheets used as anti-slip surfaces in industrial applications. There are multiple patters of such plates and this one is based on the simplest pattern with rows of single raised 'diamonds', arranged obliquely to the plate edges and alternating in their direction in every other row.

 

The 3D models are designed specifically for FDM printing with PLA, in that they have a designed internal volume(s) to minimise infill and the 3D models include removable support structures where they are necessary for FDM printing so the addition of slicer generated supports will not be necessary.

 

The ZIP file contains 72 STL files, corresponding PGA image files and a PDF.

Note: These OpenLOCK tiles are also offered in "Coarse" and "Fine" versions, which have different densities of 'diamonds' in their surface patterns.  The standard floor tiles that they are intended to complement are also offered in "Fine", "Medium" and "Coarse" detail size options so if these are being bought to go with a floor tiles set then it would be a  good idea to verify that this is the correct corresponding riser set in terms of detail size.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
