Welcome to 100 Tavern Drinks for a Curious Adventurer – a fascinating list of delicious (and nasty) tasting concoctions for your players to enjoy while visiting what is typically a mundane aspect of fantasy role playing – the tavern.

Many fantasy campaigns end up in a town or tavern between adventures. Rather than just have this portion of your campaign be nothing more than a check mark, a pause if you will, between two quests, why not liven it up and make it memorable?

Just serve up drink #4 Crimson Joke – A powerful, opaque brew make of fermented goats’ milk with a special surprise in the bottom of every drink – a sugary treat made in the shape of a bloodshot eye. Sure to bring laughter to the entire table when the drinker discovers this tasty morsel.

Or maybe drink #54 Copperhead Venom – What do you get when you combine copperhead poison with potatoes? You get Copperhead Venom – a potent vodka with a unique cloudy yellow appearance. But don’t worry. The fermentation process has neutralized the poison – mostly. At least I haven’t seen anyone die on my shift.

And for the really adventurous, consider #72 Da Bomb – This fine beer is brewed in barrels that have been packed with gunpowder – infusing the beer both with its distinctive flavors and explosive qualities. While not for the faint of heart or for a bar fight, it is perfect for a drinking contest to see who has the strongest constitution.

A few of these are sure to liven up a bar fight!

This list can be used to either choose a random libation by rolling a D100 (or 2 D10’s) or by actively choosing a particular drink to fit a particular character’s temperament.

So what are you waiting for?

Take any item on the list, apply a little imagination and let the adventure unfold.

May all your adventures be spectacular!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
