Grave Robbers: Elk Run Cemetery

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Grave Robbers: Elk Run Cemetery is a system-agnostic Western encounter offering three scenarios, maps, and several Forks in the Road.

Throughout history, grave robbing has remained a stain on civilization. In the Old West, too many scofflaws and mudsills engaged in this disreputable practice, looting the contents of a sanctified burial ground purely for personal gain. And those contents might have been silver and gold, or valuable artifacts, or even the body itself . . . well, let’s put that last thought out of mind for a moment.

Grave Robbers: Elk Run Cemetery offers three scenarios playable in a graveyard called Elk Run. The precise location is left to the imagination of the Judge (or GM, to city slickers), although each of the scenarios and associated Forks in the Road may fit better in one locale or another.

Easily adaptable to other genres and playable with your favorite RPG system.

The Dog House Gang leaves the game statistics and mechanics to the Judge. We reckon Elk Run could be adapted to various Western timeframes or to a different genre without too much trouble.

Contents:

  • Main pdf (11 pages, presenting three scenarios and 8 "Forks in the Road" with variations on the scenarios designed to work whether the PCs are wearing the white hats or the black hats.
  • Four (4) graveyard maps, each with a different terrain motif -- Desert, Prairie, Snow, and Woods. Includes pdfs suitable for printing and assembling a tabletop map and jpgs for Judges that prefer a virtual tableptop (VTT) experience. All map versions come with or without a grid.
  • One underground map, ready for use with specific scenarios and forks, with both tabletop and VTT versions.

Hi, yes, the maps were made by Mr. Keesler. I think it's fair to say the maps match the "style" of the Fort Griffin Savaged (FGS), although they are outdoor maps while FGS is predominantly indoor maps. Four seasonal versions of an outdoor graveyard. We don't have a preview of the maps, currently ...

Question: Does the art style for the maps in this product match the art style for the maps in Frontier Towns: Fort Griffin Savaged? Were they also made by Karl Keesler? Is there a preview anywhere?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
