100 Descriptions for Modern Zombies II

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Any modern zombie apocalypse game is going to need zombies. Rather than simply saying "You see a zombie" or "You see a lot of zombies" this supplement describes 100 different zombies in detail, from injuries to appearance to age and sex (although not ethnicity, so that they are generic enough to use anywhere).

The zombies include children and the very young, and the descriptions may be too graphic for young players.

This PDF supports Adobe layers and the page backgrounds and images can be disabled to make printing easier.

Here are some sample results:

  • A middle-aged man in a suit who has an iron bar embedded through his upper torso. The railing has been cleanly cut at one end and the decoration on the other suggests it was part of a decorative fence. The man’s suit is torn and blood and one sleeve of the suit jacket, and the shirt below, has been torn off, revealing an arm chewed to the bone. The iron bar catches on things as the man staggers.
  • A young girl in school uniform, who has her brown hair in a pigtail on one side of her head. On the other side, there is only bloody scalp where the matching pigtail and the surrounding hair has been ripped out. A hole has been chewed in the side of the girl’s neck, causing her head to become lopsided, and he uniform’s top is bloodstained.
  • A thin, almost skeletal and completely bald man, who looks as if he could barely walk at the best of times. There was very little flesh on the man and much of it has been chewed away, leaving bones showing in many places.
  • A tanned, blonde young man, in good physical condition wearing swim shorts. There are chunks missing from his legs and attached to one ankle is a surfboard, which is catching on things and greatly hindering his progress.
  • An elderly woman moving very slowly. She has a walking stick dangling from one wrist by a loop of cord, and would appear to have needed that to walk faster. Her hair has been mostly ripped out and bites cover every inch of exposed skin, including a hole chewed into her stomach where her blouse has been ripped open.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
