100 Books to Find on a Monarchies of Mau Bookshelf
Regular price: $1.25
Bundle price:
 $0.94
Format:
 PDF
Books can be a valuable source of clues and information, and therefore can be useful in an adventure. Some are valuable as items of treasure on their own right. Not every book encountered has this type of value or worth, though. Some of those books found may be factually wrong, contain misinformation or simply be of limited use or irrelevant. This is a collection of 100 different low-value books that could be found in the Monarchies of Mau. These can be used to flesh out a bookshelf, whether it be at the Library in the Trees or simply a collection of books belonging to a noble. All the books have been written by cats; there aren't any works of the Old Ones in the list. In a fantasy setting, even a generally useless book will usually be worth a small amount of money, as books in general c...

100 Dogs to Meet in Pugmire
Regular price: $1.49
Bundle price:
 $1.12
Format:
 PDF
This is a collection of 100 different dogs that could be found in Pugmire, whether within the city itself or in other towns or villages. Some are based in Pugmire itself, and would rarely be found outside of the City of Good Dogs. Others travel more, and can be encountered on the roads. Each dog is given a name and descriptions of what they do. Some of the dogs could be useful contacts or providers of services. Others could be a source of adventure hooks, as they require items that the characters could go and find for them. This PDF supports Adobe layers and the page backgrounds and images can be disabled to make printing easier. Here are some sample results: Felice Malamute: Felice runs a second-hand goods shop in Riverwall. She has a wide range of merchandise of different types ...

100 Rumours to Hear in Pugmire
Regular price: $1.49
Bundle price:
 $1.12
Format:
 PDF
Just as they may do so in other settings, players may have their characters ask around in Pugmire for rumours and information, perhaps for an adventure they are currently doing. This supplement provides a list of 100 different rumours they can find, that tell stories about happenings, real or supposed, in and around Pugmire and the surrounding lands. These rumours may simply provide background colour or possible misinformation, as just because a rumour is told does not mean that it is true. Alternatively, the Guide may use the rumours as a source of adventure hooks that can be fleshed out into actual adventures. This PDF supports Adobe layers and the page backgrounds and images can be disabled to make printing easier. Here are some sample results: Houndton is considering declaring...

Bundle price:

Format:
 PDF
As they may in other settings, players may have their characters ask around in the Monarchies of Mau for information and rumours, perhaps for an adventure they are currently doing. This supplement has 100 different rumours that cats could hear that tell stories and events in the monarchies and neighbouring areas. The rumours can be used to provide background colour, as there is no guarantee that any rumour heard is true. The Guide can always flesh the rumours out into adventures if desired. This PDF supports Adobe layers and the page backgrounds and images can be disabled to make printing easier. Here are some sample results: Korat has been sending many cats from its house on ships heading to waterdog Port. House Korat has never really liked having to give up any claim to the port...

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
