Warren of the Rat King is a Micro Chapbook RPG--an ultra-light roleplaying game that fits in a single folded chapbook. Simply print off the two rules pages back-to-back, fold in half, and you have a completely playable Micro Chapbook RPG. 

These rules are specially designed for solo play on a grid map or graph paper but may also be used as quick and simple rules for a traditional GM run RPG game. Combine with other Micro Chapbook RPGs for extra options!  

This file includes both the full-color and printer-friendly versions.

PURCHASER
This is probably a stupid question, but in addition to buying new equipment between adventures, do our characters heal up as well? Or do we need to buy healing agents (food, beer) in order to replenish our health and will? I have just finished Warren Of The Rat King as my first adventure; my first character died in the first room because I didn't quite under stand the system, my second attempt managed to end with 19 health remaining but only 1 Will, and spent much of the boss fight with 0 Will lol!

Thank you for any insight with this.

Hint for beginners: Strength 3, Dexterity 1, Wits 1, Charisma 2, Human Fighter. This will give you an Strength 4, rolling two dice to pick the lower, for a 4 or under. If you can afford the Great Axe, that's a lot of damage and hitting almost every time.

Harry, to answer your question, YES! In these basic 2 page modules the idea is to heal up automatically between adventures. Of course, some of the paid adventure modules with multiple dungeons and inn/towns included might require you to pay 1g to stay at an inn to heal up.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
