Karmic Places: Blacktip Bay

Orc tribal settlement.  Pirate Safe Harbor.  Thriving Coastal Town.  Blacktip Tip has evolved and is now beginning to experience growing pains.  The old orcish traditions are beginning to clash with the current ecomonic-driven sensibilities of the growing populace.  Honorable challenges give way to covert house wars, while the rule of the Chieftain is compromised by affluent merchants and his own Council.

Karmic Places: Blacktip Bay is a location sourcebook for the Karma Roleplaying System.  Use Blacktip Bay as a launch point for new adventures, or as an exciting addition to your current campaign.  This product provides the complete history of the town, geographic information, and general information regarding the different parts of town.   Delve into the politics of the town.  Don't agree with the way a Councilman is handling town affairs?  Don't vote him out of office.  Challenge him to a fight and take his seat!  Need to earn some coin?  Learn about the economics of the town and take up a bit of coral harvesting or go shark hunting.  Unlock the mysteries of faith in the town by visiting the Temple of Apuk, the Great Shark.  Or brave the wilds of the woods and mountains outside the town to visit the three great shrines and commune with the spirits there.

For Players:  three new profession ideas, Six new gemstones with strange powers to maximize magical items, unique equipment, and three new disciplines (Apuk Devotee, Ranger, and Rogue).

For Storytellers:  Six new monsters (blacktip reef shark, bone guardian, Chotha, jellyfish, mekuteye, muck tunneler), histories and stat blocks for a dozen NPCs (including the entire current Council and Chieftain) that can serve as allies or adversaries for the players, story seeds, and a magic item calculation guide that provides the construction data and retail prices of all magic items referenced in the book.

Editor's Note:

While the background information in this supplement is suitable for use in any fantasy game system, the book references rules and spells found in the Karma Core Rules Book, The Karmic Grimoire, and Karmic Monsters

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
