Post Apocalyptic City (audio product)

MP3 File

Gritty, dirty, dog-eat-dog world where the survivors are tough as nails and the weak don't last very long. Gruff men stand around trash-can bonfires to keep warm, drinking homemade liquor made from anything that will grow. Some skinny dead thing roasts on a spit. Glass breaks, someone shouts, a fight breaks out in the distance. Gas is long gone, and most cars have been torn apart to create make-shift shelters. Stray animals scavenge for food. Children learn to use weapons. This is a world ruled by anarchy, violence and fear. But there's also something else that is beginning to ascend from the destruction... something gentler, brighter... could it be... hope? There are whispers of a hero, destined to lead the people and help rebuild the world they once knew. No one knows who he is or where he will come from, but there have been rumours of glimpses of a mysterious stranger in town... Industrial/cyber-punk theme music. Appropriate for games in post-apocalyptic and modern settings.

Sonic Legends soundscapes are a blend of music and sound effects specially designed to enhance tabletop and live-action roleplaying games. The music provides an emotive backdrop that helps your players get into the right mood, and the sound effects give you a realistic sonic environment to set your scene in. Each soundscape is approximately eight to ten minutes in length, and shifts to naturally follow a dramatic storyline. The best part is that each soundscape is seamlessly loopable, so there's no limit to how long your scene has to be! Just download your Sonic Legends soundscape to your mp3 player or laptop, turn up your speakers and GAME ON!

This 8:12 track is certainly not a bad track, in fact I quite liked the guitar solo at the start (at the 0:55 mark), however I did have a few issues with it. The first issue was that it doesn't loop as well as the other tracks from Sonic Legends, even [...]

Electric guitars and a driving drum beat tie the feel of this track to the modern era, and perhaps beyond. As I listened to this track, the images that came to mind were actually more of a stylish detective drama than of post-apocalyptic urbanism. Also [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
