I stubbled accross these titles when a Google search for a map lead to the author's/illustrator's DTRPG store. I immediately fell inlove with the Bay of Spirits, a setting not too different but amazingly more fleshed out than my own. I bought the entire catalouge and have been steadily incorporating the setting into my own.
What I love about it the most is how fleshed out the little things are, like villagers, various unique products, and how the geography influences the people who live there. When I learned the author was from Newfoundland (and a fellow Canadian), it made a lot more sense. Having been to Newfoundland and falling in love with the land there, reading these suppliments makes me want to return.

Thanks Jason for the great review and for purchasing these products! Glad to hear you made the connection to Newfoundland (it's definitely the inspiration for a lot of the non-fantasy material). Perhaps I should tag these booklets as 'tourism guides' :).

Love this product, the art and the visuals are spectacular, there are a lot of hooks without a lot of system baggage. No obligatory, prestige class to fluff up the page count, just good info to get your GM or DM mind turning over the possibilities for adventures.

I love this product. Randy's maps are so evocative. Noticing his maps over on a fantasy google plus group, that led me to Jaunt: Hinterlands: a Guide to the Wilds. I was looking for a northern clime setting for a six-gun and sorcery setting. This fit the bill to a tee. Great artwork is studded throughout the pdf. Some really great flavor for a fairly unique setting. One illustration was used immediately as in the backstory of the characters, they were caught in a blizzard as kids. A great cutaway illustration by Randy of a snow shelter was perfect and the player who had a young builder/smith prodigy exclaimed "I built that!", cementing such great flavor in the game.
Can't recommend enough.

Looks absolutely gorgeous. Not sure how I'll use this in my game (can't really print anything this long, although I might not even need to) but it serves as a wonderful source of inspiration, at least. Maybe make a few horizontal maps, to change things up a bit? Anyways, really nice map with an old feel to it.

Fantastic art, great setting, Bay of Spirits and related modules provide depth and richness to the fabric of any game world, and can stand on their own! I can't say enough about them - purchased the entire catalog. More than worth the money, and that stands true for all of it. Posting this to all the Roan Studios products on DriveThruRPG.

Evocative.
If I had to choose a single word to describe "Bay of Spirits" it would be evocative. The setting drips with just enough detail to leave you wanting more. As a DM it leaves enough room for you to make it your own, and to easily adapt it - wither to BX, 5E or whatever other system you like. The artwork and maps are perhaps the most wonder ful part. I'd urge anyone looking for a stand-alone setting, or perhaps a micro-setting for insertion into a larger game world to take a look.
For $2.99 - this is plenty of material and has relatively few errors when it comes to typos or grammar. Nothing worth calling out.

This complex spire is So freakin cool!!!! I've looked it over a few times now and the whole thing is so complex, unique and exciting. I love how fully fleshed out it feels. The town at the base of the spire has a back story, all the stops along the way complete the overall map, the tavern in the city is awesome and has it's own map, I just can't say enough good about this map pack. Well worth the $1.00!!!
