This product does what it promises. What you get is a nicely formatted page with Risus-like rules, traits to build characters, and roll tables for scenarios. While it is a tad too simplified for what I wanted, it's certainly attractive and usable it its own right. My main complaint is the price. At $2 a page, a 150-page book would cost $300! I feel that $2 is asking a little too much for what this is really worth. That said, if you can snag this on sale, I'd say you can do so with no regrets. It's a fun little system and the first commercial one (that I know of) which specifically nods to SEGA's popular franchise. Later this year, SEGA is releasing an "Encyclo-speed-ia" which could potentially pair nicely with this. When you're ready for something more complex, other systems to consider for roleplaying this franchise include Risus, Toon, Albedo, and VeloCITY.

its great, the system wear the inspiration on the sleves, it only uses 1d6, with a roll under mechanic, so, its easy to understand and easy to play, the only thing I'll change its the tables, beign a one page rpg the setting its generated by the gm, so, the setting table its a little innecesary, but a "Well of power" and "Complete desperation" table would be better, so it showcase the system better than the setting generator

All in All, its great, I can't wait to play it with all my friends

This masterful micro rpg is the perfect introduction to creative writing with a structure. Its focus on cozy, steady, escapism allows one to relax while thinking about all the good things in the world. Its casual approach and solo player aspects fit hand in hand while still offering multi-player in an equally comfortable way. I look forward to continued revisits of this game. #CHEATBEAK

Thank you for the kind review! I'm really glad you enjoy Heart Home so much :> CHEAT CODE UNLOCKED: PRANK GIFTS When you send a friend a gift, include the word "BOING" somewhere in the text. It can be hidden (e.g. the first letter of each sentence of description spells BOING, or it's written vertically across the lines of description), but it must be clear once it's pointed out. If the gift-receiver doesn't point out "BOING" in the gift within 24 hours, they've been PRANKED! (Being pranked has no extra effects.)

This is a really great game for meditation practice. I've often struggled with creating an effective headspace to bring myself to and calm myself down, and this is great for slowly crafting that kind of space--it makes it achievable, but it doesn't allow one to "grind" for rewards, incentivizing you to keep up healthy actions, without enabling them through a perpetual rewards system. The multiplayer aspect seems really interesting, and I'd love to construct some sort of "dream apartment" with my friends, but I haven't had the chance yet.

This is definitely a nitpick and more personal, but I suppose I always need someone to escape to. I think this is the only place Heart Home has a weakness: as I tried to play it out solo, the lack of characters emphasized that it was still a little lonely. Ultimately the player, especially in a game like this, is the real master, so if I want to add someone to have around, I can! But the rules structure provide a great way to add in locations and objects, but something about it feels a little stark without other players. If there were a short section on adding "roomies" or "neighbors," I think that would really make this the perfect little meditative experience. Maybe NPCs can be the #CHEATBEAK for this RPG?

Thank you for the lovely review! I'd actually like to write a proper bonus page of rules for Neighbors in Heart Home at some point - probably as part of the hack pack when my Patreon hits $250! In the mean time, this might help! CHEAT CODE UNLOCKED: HOWDY NEIGHBOR When you create a new location, close your eyes, picture the location, say "Howdy, Neighbor!" This will cause a friendly non-player character to appear! Get a notecard (if playing on physical paper), write their name at the top, and write a sentence describing them below. Once per day, you can move them to a different location. When you spend Drops to describe an item in a location with that neighbor, you can also add a sentence of description to the neigbor if you involve them in the item's description.

Such a fun, soft game! Love the solo aspects and the ability to play asynchronously with your friends. This has a lot of poetential and flexibility!

5 Stars because this game cuts a lot of the fat off and specializes itself to a very specific type of genre fiction similar to the stories told by Grease, Redline, or Rebel Without a Cause.

Its mechanics create gameplay thats feels as fast as a racing movie like Fast and The Furious or Speed Racer 2008 by using the narrative to build up the intensity of the race that decides it all.

Like most of Merry Mancer Game's micro-rpgs, Its a fun romp that feels like an interactive movie night.
