It's a tailsitter design! In the spirit of the BROADSWORD or AZHANTI HIGH LIGHTNING the ATTICUS has a feel more suited to a near-hard scifi setting. Imaginative design, many details, and plenty of plot hooks. Oh yeah, did I mention the artwork! Seriously, this is an astounding product for the price. Shows the potential of the Cepheus Engine without so many of those "imperial" influences. Get it and be inspired!

    Clement Sector: The Rules
    Publisher: Independence Games
    by A customer [Verified Purchaser]
    Date Added: 10/20/2016 21:20:47

The Rules are a CEPHEUS ENGINE-derivative set of rules for playing in The Clement Sector. The Core Task Resolution system is here along with most other rules of play. What is not here is setting-modified material. For chargen you need the Clement Sector Core Setting Book (careers), for ships a Ships of the Clement Sector guide, and for building ships Anderson & Felix's Guide for Naval Architecture.

You can play the setting with the base CEPHEUS ENGINE book if necessary but this is a great modified rules set that tailors CEPHEUS for the setting.

Awesome setting book. Each Zozer Games product seems to focus on one "gimmick," which in this case is air-to-air combat. Well done and very inspirational. Looking forward to running this one!

10 tons or 20 like the text says? Designed using the High Guard Small Craft design sequence and not the Vehicle Handbook. Design is uninspiring...called cramped in the text yet the large boxy vehicle/craft shows plenty of space to move around in. Convention over the years for Traveller has defined how big the boxes on a design are...this design fails to follow that convention. Thanks to the publisher for at least trying...but many other -better- designs that follow convention are available online for the same price.

More a collection of fan-made homebrew rules than a true formal supplement. Good ideas to experiment with without adding too much crunch to an otherwise lite set of rules.

Reign of Discordia (RoD) is a setting book with very few new rules. In some cases, too few rules (so just how do these new star drives work?). As a setting, RoD has a little bit of everything. A decent sandbox to play in that is NOT the Third Imperium of the Mongoose Traveller Universe. Given that RoD started out as a True20 product and this is a translation into the Traveller system, what I find most surprising is the number of very obvious spelling and format errors (changing fonts) in the product. For a text that was mostly imported from another product I think this is inexcusable. I would like to give this product four stars, but the lack of attention/care to the text fores me to knock it down a level.

This was released during the 2008 US Presidential Elections. This is really a metasetting document for a dark-humor political future. Few rules, more like throw ons really. The designer notes even seemingly admit the whole thing is a joke.

Self-publishing is grand...anybody can publish anything. I picked this up as a free download....the real joke would be if you paid for this.

    Mouse Guard Roleplaying Game
    Publisher: Archaia Entertainment LLC
    by Ian B. [Verified Purchaser]
    Date Added: 03/23/2009 00:58:27

Mouse Guard is not the usual RPG. If you are a d20 fan you may even not like this system. That would be a shame, because Mouse Guard can make a great storytelling system.

The core system is derived from Burning Wheel. Key to every player character is their goals and beliefs. Even missions have player-character created goals. This part can be hard to grasp for many players OR GMs. Good goals and beliefs that are played well will result in an enjoyable game; ergo poor goals or beliefs played poorly or with little understanding will not yield a joyful experience. You really need and EXPERIENCED GM to make this system work; having a GM that leads the PCs through the adventure is not enough.

The turn mechanic (GM turn, player turns) seem more like storytelling than roleplaying at times. Again, a good GM will be key.

But once you get through goals and beliefs, and play a few turns it all fits together. I have played this game with my kids (ages 14 & 11) and they really enjoy the adventures. Our first mission was a simple "Deliver the Mail" that forced them to: 1) Find the trail after the long winter (Use your skills) 2) Face an animal threat along the way (Learn combat) 3) Reach their destination, only to learn of a mystery (Social Conflict rules) 4) Search for the source of the mystery (Creative use of use your skills) 5) Face the villian (Combat or Persuasion?)

Mouse Guard deserves a place in every RPG collection.

So why not 5 stars? The pdf is derived from the 8"x8" book print, meaning lots of empty space on every page. And each page has a background. So if you want to print you are going to have to use LOTS of ink and have LOTS of white space around the edges.

The solution...BUY THE HARDBACK COPY TOO!!
