    Second Edition Classes: Cabalist
    Publisher: Legendary Games

An intriguing new class for PF2, which happens to explore a fair amount of the territory that the canonical Witch class does -- the cabalist has a familiar and serves 'mysterious entities that are well beyond anyone’s understanding'. It's a bit more focused than the Witch, exclusively an Occult caster where the Witch can partake of all four of the traditions, and whether either of those choices is a strength or a weakness is entirely subjective. On the whole, I think it offers enough of a different take that it could replace the Witch in campaigns with an Occult focus, like many horror-tinged settings, but I'm uncertain of the notion of allowing them both to exist in the same setting.

An interesting mixture of amusing and not-very-funny-at-all. I think that I might use it as a 'Maniac' class, replacing an insanity system. It's lacking in multiclass features, though.

    zDnD 5e Epic Level Handbook
    Publisher: Dungeon Masters Guild

Now this is more like it! A much better format than a certain other product I reviewed, and it works alongside the existing epic boon system, with higher levels coming at exactly 30,000 XP. However, instead of simply taking an epic boon, this book allows you to take a new feat (with some of the limitations of the feats taken off) a level of one of your classes below level 20, or an epic level of one of your classes below level 30, which are introduced in this short, nineteen page document. While I'm unsure about some of the choices made in those classes -- such as the way every epic class gains advantage on death saves -- they all offer intriguing expansions of the classes' core competencies.

The only major problems with this product are some embarrassing slip-ups, like putting an epic barbarian's class features in the list of epic wizard class features, and a mess-up in the table of contents. But on the whole, I'm looking forward to repurchasing this work at the first opportunity.

    Beyond Level 20
    Publisher: Dungeon Masters Guild

Consisting of a single page -- the other four being the title page and the two pages given to the SRD, which I'm given to understand is somewhat superfluous on this site -- this product suggests setting aside the sensible advice for advancing about level 20 given in the DMG. Instead, we're to allow multiclass characters -- no single-class characters need apply apparently -- to advance up to level 30, handing out epic boons and feats (!) every other level. The experience thus required for an epic boon thus INCREASES to a ridiculous amount! This is a wholly unnecessary product; it's fortunate that it was Pay-What-You-Want.
