    Sinister Red

This is a zine-style adventure themed around vampirism and blood, intended for OD&D and OSR systems. There are a bunch of hooks to get the party through a portal and into this crimson world, where they have to seek out their exit. Plenty of suitably sanguinary encounters, NPCs, and loot. I backed the original Kickstarter and I am very happy with the outcome.

It's rare that a RPG rulebook makes me laugh out loud, rarer still before the contents. But the "Note on Transatlantic Slang" managed it!

Stay Frosty's classes have been stripped out and replaced with the ranger - distinguished by traits and gear. Rangers are stronger than their SF equivalents but are up against the cursed hordes of the Doomed Dimensions. The sample adventure "The Flayed Domain" is a pointcrawl reminiscent of a Quake map.

This entire 80-page book is a love letter to the ilk of Doom, Quake, Hexen, and other 90s first-person shooter PC games. The art is visceral, the text has punch, and the PC life expectancy is limited at best.

If you want "Quake: the RPG" - get Slipgate Chokepoint.

This is a tightly-written zine-style rules set - perfect for not getting in the way of the action.

I'm left wanting to run a squad of misfits and crazies versus the legions of hell, the alien invasion, and killer cyborgs from the future.

Eight pages long but this is a delightfully dismal setting, cut off from the wider world.

There are a bunch of plot hooks for DMs and ideas for rebuilding the various towns and villages trapped in Vallakia.

For the price, this is a fine piece of inspiration.

    On the Shoulders of Colossus
    Publisher: John Battle
    by David M. [Verified Purchaser]
    Date Added: 07/18/2020 12:21:45

As the book points out at the start, this is heavily inspired by the themes and battles from the classic "Shadow of the Colossus" game.

The stats given are for D&D 5e, though these should be readily converted to other systems.

This supplement is built on two pillars: grey morality and the unusual nature of colossi compared to other foes. If either of those appeal to you, I suggest giving On the Shoulders of Colossus a look.

The Palladium Book of European Castles
    Publisher: Palladium Books
    by David M. [Verified Purchaser]
    Date Added: 07/18/2020 11:44:04

The bulk of the book consists of maps, images, and floorplans of medieval European castles from .

    It also includes:

    • A quite comprehensive glossary of terms related to castles and other fortifications
    • A short bibliography for further reading on the topic
    • A wall rating system for comparison, based on number of hits by various sizes of stones launched by siege engines

If you have an interest in applying real-world castles to your gaming, this is well worth a look.

This is a lovingly-illustrated piece of work. Certainly plenty of inspiration for a fantasy campaign. It is a tad short but still worthwhile if you want to incorporate creatures out of folk tales.

The writing and art vividly evoke this ancient and frankly under-utilised setting. The mechanics do not get in the way of the game. A fabulous take on the Into The Odd chassis.

    SHOTGLASS ADVENTURES 1
    Publisher: Laidback DM
    by David M. [Verified Purchaser]
    Date Added: 05/13/2020 15:52:57

I just started a group on Murder in Seaforth. Mostly new to D&D entirely. They were able to get stuck into the plot quickly and had a decent but not overwhelming number of options to investigate.

There is a lot to like about these adventures. Lots of information in a terse format with enough map to make it work. Even terms to make things easier for new players.

Well worth picking up to have solid adventures ready for one-offs and mini-campaigns, with the option to thread them together within the Verona Province setting.
