At times a bit stodgy and academian, but an entertaining read. It's definitely helpful for games like HeroQuest, and the forthcoming Hillfolk (both written by Laws, natch). Well worth any GMs time to read.

    Wild Talents: The Kerberos Club

Steampunk superheroes seem to be all the rage lately and with great books like The Kerberos Club, I can see why. My only quibble, and I guess it's really more a request (vain hope) for a web supplement giving more details or examples of the challenge a prospective club member must go through before being accepted. Yeah... that'd be cool.

Otherwise if you like Mark Hodder's Burton and Swinburne novels, or Jonathon Barnes' excellent The Somnambulist, or even Andrew P. Mayer's Society of Steam novels, you owe it to yourself to get this book.

I really wanted to like this game. I really did. The premise sounds really cool and had a lot of promise. However the execution was a tad flat and, ultimately, left me feeling "Meh." Don't get me wrong, it's by no means a bad game. It just feels a little bit like a Tony Robbins self-help book. I could quibble with the organization, and layout, but it's really no worse (or better) than a lot of other games I have read. I was a bit put off by the fact that the lovely cover illo is not included with the download. In the end, it's not bad, not great, but merely OK.

A very inspired and inspiring game. I'm not a huge fan of space opera or the 40K flavor, but I got this after a recommendation by Robin Laws. And it did not disappoint. I think it would definitely take a certain type of player to get into the proper spirit of Three Sixteen, but those who prize story over rules crunch will love it.
