This is a fun book. I appreciate the npcs, maps, and descriptions of the Academy. However, the adventure and encounters don't feel very useful to me. I would rather they were ommited and the cost of the book reduced to $5. The map and descriptions for $5 would be a five star book for sure.

Funny story about this product - so earlier in the day before it launched, I had been pondering how to involve a wizard school in an upcoming campaign I am going to be running, and I could not for the life of me imagine how to build it - I was completely stumped. But then I got an alert that Jason was looking for reviewers, and I immediatly jumped on the chance to look at The Academy: The Wizard Class Hall. Not only is this well laid out and well organized, but it offers you all the tools to make a Hogwarts or Camp Halfblood-esque game come alive at your table. The Academy itself has that beautiful balance of just enough lore and not too much, with all of the different towers and sections being wonderful little hotspots for roleplay potential. My only main complaint is that I think this could really benefit from some higher quality art just to get the feel across, maybe an old tome motif, but otherwise I think the team on this did a fantastic job, and I will definitely be visiting the Academy in the future. This is a well-concieved, clever, and engaging product where the culture and personalities of this mystical locacle are brought convincingly to life!

The Academy is everything it promises to be. If you want your players to visit a school of magic, you will not be disappointed. Make sure to have them meet a few of the sidekicks and read their quotes as more locations are discovered.
The layout is very well done, too. One thing to note, be careful with the Prestige Class features presented here. Some might find them too powerful for feats, but maybe you could use them for NPCs. Anyway, this book is a great hit for me. Mandatory for any High-Fantasy setting!
