Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay Fourth Edition Rulebook
by Filip B.
Publisher: Cubicle 7 Entertainment Ltd.
Date Added: 11/21/2018 03:30:18
Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay Fourth Edition Rulebook I've played WFRP 1st, 2nd and a little bit 3rd editions before this one and 4th is by far the best, the most complete, the most lore coherent, the most sophisticated (with optional levels of complexity) and the most fun of them all. I like DnD much, especially 5th edition, but WFRP 4th is just another league. Previous editions suffered in my opinion to a little bit boring combat. Deadly, yes, but still not that fun enough, especially with multiple miss-miss rounds. Not anymore. Now it's just as deadly as always but apart of that super fun and with plenty of choices to make. Another cool thing is whole career status, earning and endevours mechanics along with career advancements that don't enforce you to change careers. Theoretically unlimited leveling (no skill or characteristic cap) is another cool thing too. I probably wouldn't need it that much often, but it's cool the system can handle that. This edition is just perfect and a must have for any RPG enthusiast....

Vampire: the Masquerade 5th Edition
by Todd M.
Publisher: White Wolf
Date Added: 11/21/2018 02:47:08
Vampire: the Masquerade 5th Edition I'll try not to be overly redundant, but to reinforce/reiterate that already stated. 1. Aesthetics: too cluttered. I wish they'd come out with a bare bones/no art version. It's ~uselessly pretty. 2. Rules: Looks to be a pretty nice improvement, and this is where the scales of usefulness tips, as the rules actually seem to support the kind of game that it is; the hunger mechanic addresses a big gripe that I've had with the WoD at large, namely that it degenerated into a supers game of various stripes. Not so any longer. 3. Setting. Silly, unbelievable in a bad way. One example is how they paint Francis and the Vatican as some stripe of secretly orthodox hammerers of haemovores. Another is where (shady grammar?) Harker seems to be talking about Vampires drowning. Yet another it is stated that without the blush of life, vampires look dead, but in another section, we are briefed on how vampires are wolves in sheeps' clothing, though some are saintly wolves. The principle of non-contr...

T&T Japan Adventures

T&T Japan Adventures This is overall one of the best products for RPG out there. Great comic to intro the game system. Good solid mini rules. The solo adventure: have double digit con is all I will say. Good adventure took me two times to beat it. Kitten napped is fun and requires players to think as you can't hack your way out. Journey to Black Wall good GM adventure. Lots of fun and not everythign is as it appears.

Murders & Acquisitions Pre-Gen Characters
by Christopher B.
Publisher: NerdBurger Games
Date Added: 11/20/2018 16:00:48
Murders & Acquisitions Pre-Gen Characters I'm not sure who went through the pages for this game and marked all of the free resources with a 3 star rating, but is seems wholly undeserved. Having Pre-Gen Characters in a seperate file without having to go through the PDF and track them down is immensly helpful and time-saving. Not only that, but these can be edited and altered from within your browser or any pdf reader, so if you need to create new NPCs or update the existing ones, doing so is super easy. That ALONE should constitute a 5 star rating! I cannot tell you how many times in games I wish such a resource existed, and for free no less! If you plan on running Murders & Acquisitions, get these character sheets. They will save you a TON of time....

Murders & Acquisitions Quick-Start Guide
by Christopher B.
Publisher: NerdBurger Games
Date Added: 11/20/2018 15:51:28
Murders & Acquisitions Quick-Start Guide This quick start guide is literally everything you need in order to get started playing Murders & Acquisitions. It gives you all the basic rules, sample characters, and a brief scenario allowing you to get a taste for the system and the setting of the game. I've played a few games using these rules, and given the fact that this supplement is free I don't see why you would rate this anything other than 5 stars. I've played a lot of different RPG systems over the years, and most of them don't put a quick start guide as well put together and comprehensive as this. With this supplement alone, you should know whether or not to buy the full product based on how it runs. This could potentially save you money if you found it not to your liking (though you probably will because the rules are very intuitive and the setting is hilarious). If you're looking for a different RPG to give a try, I highly recommend this one. I plan on running it at future conventions, and I expect it to be o...

The Eye of Xalath
by Olivier S.
Publisher: GRAmel
Date Added: 11/20/2018 14:34:28
The Eye of Xalath The "Eye of Xalath" is a 25 pages (+ stats and book of lore) adventure for Beasts & Barbarians by Umberto Pignatelli. It takes place in the decadent empire of Tricarnia (though it may be adapted to some other dark realms). The heroes wake up tied on a sacrificial altar, while the ceremony is being performed ! Yes, I know, starting *in medias res* is a staple of Sword & Sorcery, but some gamemasters may have to justify this situation in front of their players. If the latters did not fail their previous adventure, I suggest that the GM, as a "reward", include some precious items in the second part of this story. A beautiful Tricarnian princess is about to stab them with a magical dagger when, suddenly, minions of her brother and foe rush into the tower. Both the heroes and the princess have to flee on a giant bat in the direction of the Brokenchain Mountains, where their "air-beast" finally crashes into a giant maze, the "Xalath", populated by strange three-eyed humanoids who captur...

Apocalypse Metropolis: Part 2 Roads to Nowhere
by Ashley W.
Publisher: Nicky G
Date Added: 11/20/2018 13:47:00
Apocalypse Metropolis: Part 2 Roads to Nowhere So... Literally a third of the files wouldn't open because there were too many characters in the title name. After about twenty five minutes of aggrevation, and two YouTube vids, I finally got it figured out, and managed to open the files. But seriously, having thirty to forty tags on a picture is just ridiculous. BUT... if you stick through it long enough to actually get into the bundles themselves (and this goes for all three of the ones I bought of this set, 1,2,+4), the illustration is gorgeous, and high quality, there's plenty of customization options... Be forewarned though: if you're just looking for a map to throw up real quick for your buddy's last minute RP session, this isn't the bundle for you. This isn't actual 'maps' -it's the textures, objects, and tokens for you to create your own map. ...

Esper Genesis 5E Sci-fi - Core Manual
by Anthony V.
Publisher: Alligator Alley Entertainment
Date Added: 11/20/2018 10:08:49
Esper Genesis 5E Sci-fi - Core Manual I have watched Esper Genesis grow as I was a playtester and (late to the game) Backer. I have loved how they tweaked 5E to make it more well rounded and added a universe that begs to be explored. I have found that I love the classes and races in Esper more than I ever loved 5e D&D (bugbear aside) and I love running Crucible Corps and now that my players have eaten up all of that my own universe. I cannot rave more about this game, yes first edition had a lot of things to be fixed but they pushed out an update in lightning fast speed and updated the pdf accordingly. PLAY THIS GAME!! ...

Knights & Legends Tabletop RPG
by Andrew C.
Publisher: Knights & Legends Tabletop RPG
Date Added: 11/20/2018 05:03:35
Knights & Legends Tabletop RPG I bought this on sale, only $2 so I wasn't expecting a lot. I was intrigued by mention of simple and strategic combat and a 'powerful toolbox' for fantasy rpg adventure. I'll just say that the description vastly overstates the content of this book. The first 10 pages (p. 4-14) are setting material which gives a very brief overview of an entire fantasy world. There are many classes presented, but for the most part they are only distinguished by the number of bonus points they can add to their basic stats and a single different ability. For instance a human paladin gets +2 to attack evil and undead foes, while a human warrior gets +1 to attack all foes. I also note that for each race there are maximum ability scores listed for each gender, which seems a distasteful in 2018. The rules then list one page of 'super abilities', including about 30 spells and another 12 special abilities. Each one of these 'super' abilities gets one line of description. This description usual...

Champions of the Spheres

Publisher: Drop Dead Studios
Date Added: 11/20/2018 04:19:53
Champions of the Spheres An Endzeitgeist.com review This massive supplement clocks in at 54 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page TOC (which also features a list of Spheres from Spheres of Power and Spheres of Might), 1 page SRD, 1 page back cover, leaving us with 49 pages of content, so let’s take a look! In case you didn’t know already: This book basically represents a crossover-supplement between Drop Dead Studios’ critically-acclaimed Spheres of Power and Spheres of Might books, and as such, I assume familiarity with both of them in this review. This review was recently moved up in my reviewing queue at the request of my patreons. The pdf starts after a brief introduction to the matter at hand, with three new base classes, which make use of the Blended Training feature – this denotes that the character is treated as possessing Combat Training as a base class feature. The first of these would be the prodigy, who has d8 HD, 4 + Int skills per level, ¾ BAB-progression, good Ref...

20 Things #31: Blue Dragon's Lair (System Neutral Edition)
by Thilo G. [Featured Reviewer]
Publisher: Raging Swan Press
Date Added: 11/20/2018 04:17:48
20 Things #31: Blue Dragon's Lair (System Neutral Edition) An Endzeitgeist.com review This installment of the #20 Things-series clocks in at 11 pages, 1 page front cover, 2 pages of advertisement, 1 page editorial/ToC, 1 page SRD, 1 page back cover, leaving us with 5 pages of content, so let’s take a look! On the first page, we get 8 names for male and female blue dragons, as well as a table of 12 blue dragon lair features – from fine shifting sands covering deep drift to rippled dunes blocking passage, the entries here present some rather cool details that can add genuine depth to the exploration: Sinkholes, veritable scorpion swarms and yes, even a pool that is fed by underground springs make for plausible and cool features to add to the lairs of the masters of deserts. Beyond these features, which can have a more pronounced impact on lair exploration, we also get 12 entries of dressing that are more cosmetic: Vanquished gnoll raiders, mangled shields that tell, by their presence of the failures of those that came before, faded ...
